Ride Schedule May 22-25 (Including Memorial Day)
by Sheri L 21 May '25

21 May '25

[image: Conejo Valley Cyclists] *So... you are thinking about the money and cost for the CVC Picnic & Benefit Ride?* Here is a great breakdown. The average club ride lasts for 2 ½ hours. Yearly Membership Fee $35.00 Cost per hour Per month *$2.92 * 1 ride a week $0.68 $0.28 Per Hour 2 rides a week $0.34 $0.14 3 rides a week $0.25 $0.10 4 Rides a week $0.19 $0.08 Clearly........ I think we can safely say, the club membership is already a screaming bargain and this only covers operating expenses. We are more than that. We are a charitable organization in support of fostering cycling. So, let's get going on giving back and make a difference in someone's life! Let's get those kids who lost all belongings, some bikes back into their lives. Be a part of this day! It is *your* time to give back. And on that thought.... MANY of our initial sign ups for the Picnic & Benefit ride have been previous riders who have done this ride before. The reason for that is because they know how much fun this ride is. The long term members saw how much fun the event was, and how much they got out of riding it, and the moral satisfaction of giving to others. It's time to bring our newer members and those new to the Picnic & Benefit Ride, into the fun! Click the link below to register today! CVC Thursday MTB ride
by Kent Koral 20 May '25

20 May '25

Hi Boys and Girls, this Thursday the MTB ride will have a play date in Sycamore. We’re going to do our typical CVC route. I figured with the warm temps, we could head down to cooler environs. If you feel like riding your gravel bike, E-MTB, dirt jumper….go for it, this is very suitable (OK, maybe not the dirt jumper). It will be a nice, easy, mellow paced ride. 5:30 PM rollout from our usual Wendy and Potrero start. Good way to start off the penultimate day prior to the three day weekend! Text me if you have any questions. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50836602 Kent Koral (818) 802-0826

[image: image.png] [image: image.png] *Question of the week? Why should I pay for a ride when I could ride for free?* *Who can answer that question? How about one of the young girls who received a bike from Conejo Valley Cyclists when she lost everything else? A bike was not first on her parents list of quick replacement items when they lost everything they owned in a fire. Or how about one of the foster children who received a bike through donations made through our benefits? No parents to do that for them. This is our fundraiser and a time to give back to our community in a fun filled way to help make it a better day for you all! We've got some great sponsors, an amazing meal, a beer garden and fun routes. So please sign up today and let's go celebrate the summer solstice with a great ride! City of Thousand Oaks Active Transportation Plan - Public Input
by Sheri L 12 May '25

12 May '25

Hi, The City is looking for public input on the Active Transportation Plan (ATP). the APT is the City's roadmap for prioritizing future bikelanes, bike paths, and sidewalks. PLEASE take a few minutes and provide input and please forward this email to others, especially if you are part of a cycling group and have access to their emails and/or post it on your social media page. *The City would like comments to be submitted by May 17. * This is the link for Public Input: https://www.toaksatp.org There is a short survey. There is also a map to add comments. The map is on the left. It didn't take me very long to figure out how to click and add my comments. There's a "how to" add comments on the left side that helps get you started. You can add as many comments as you want and when you are done, hit submit, and you will see all your comments. For example, I would like the City to complete the sidewalk on Agoura Road between Westlake Blvd and the City limit to the east. That will allow pedestrians to not walk/jog in the street, and cyclists riding east on Agoura Road can focus on cycling and not dodging pedestrians. I added this comment to the map. I'm sure you all have other sections where you would like to see a new bikelane/path and sidewalks. You can add this as one of your comments in addition to any other areas you would like to see improvements. The next Bicycle Advisory Team meeting is this Thursday, May 15th at 4:00 in the Park Room at the Civic Arts Plaza. *Anyone can attend the meeting* - please attend if you would like to learn more about the ATP AND provide input! Email me back if you have any questions. I hope you have a great day, Kathy Naoum
