Hi All,
Saturday's start location for the Orange Light is the Mission/Ventura
County Museum parking lot in Ventura! If you pull the ride with gps in, it
will show better. This is the regular start location in Ventura. (Santa
Clara) Just type in Ventura County Museum for directions if you don't know.
Thanks!

Happy Weekend to you CVC!
We have an array of amazing rides ahead.
As a reminder, we will meet in the parking lot of the Landing at 8:00 on
Saturdays for the local ride, and 8:30 for the AWAY ride.
AND..... 8:30 on Sundays *WITH YOUR MASK ON*!
Once we leave the cluster of walkers around the lake, you are welcome to
continue to wear it or not.
When riding with us:
· wear helmets and ensure your bike is in good working order
· stay in bike lanes and be cognizant of social distancing
· not overlap wheels (crosswheel)
· descend carefully! Look out for debris, animals, potholes, tight
bends, and slick spots
· pass slower riders on the left
· ride predictably: signal when changing lines and call out hazards
. respect all traffic rules and the rights of motor vehicles, cyclists, and
pedestrians
· always use proper hand signals to indicate to drivers and other riders
your intentions
· we are a "rules of the road" cycling club
· Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is
either actively raining
or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club
ride.
Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions;
however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride
You will notice that the gold ride has no leader. It would be great if
someone could jump in as you organize together, and take over this week.
We most certainly will need some people to step up and volunteer to lead
gold in the future.

Here are your rides for the weekend of 7/25-7/26,
Please be sure to take a few seconds to thank your ride leaders! They do
an amazing job and are so giving of their time!
Remember, this is a volunteer job and we are always looking for our regular
ride members to lead rides so this never falls on the hands of just a few.
Please contact me for more information on this.

To Conejo Valley Cyclists,
Beginning tomorrow, we are asking that you all wear a mask/face covering
in the parking lot and around Westlake where we have plenty of walkers.
We are doing a great job social distancing, but when passing walkers or
other riders, or listening to ride start information, it gets closer
than some are comfortable with. We look better as a group when we are
doing our part of face covering. Many surrounding cities are now making
masks mandatory and though we could say "we are exercising", we do not
know who will be particular about this or not. So while we are in highly
visible and populated areas where others are walking or standing with
masks, it serves the community better to wear a mask.
Thank you for doing your part,
Sheri Leiken

Hello CVC!
There are some great rides planned for this weekend.
It is our 3rd Summer Saturday of the month and time for an "away" ride. We
will be meeting on Padaro Lane, in front of restaurants. All groups are
welcome of course. The planned route is approx. 44 miles. If you do not
want that many miles, you can cut off left at La Cumbre to Las Palmas and a
return back through Santa Barbara. Please look at the map. In fact I am
asking all of you to please look at the map and familiarize yourself with
*all* of the routes you are taking.
There are three local rides Saturday, the red, the orange, and the Mellow
Yellow.
Do not forget your masks, and social distancing on these rides is of utmost
importance.
Sunday will again be led by our fantastic leaders, Donna with orange/red
and Richard for the Sunday Funday.
Please be mindful when you ride, if you are slowing, please stay to the
right, and please pass only on the left.
Remember, *start time on local Saturday is 8:00* am and "Away" ride start
time is 8:30.
*Summer Sunday start time is at 8:30*.
* reminder to carry or wear a mask, and be extremely cognizant of distancing
* please download or carry your route so you know where you are going
*share your thanks with your ride leaders!

Important Info on Hidden Valley:
Next Monday and Tuesday (July 20th and 21st) the County has scheduled
paving Phase II of the Potrero Road bikelane project. This section is
between the bridge and Hidden Valley Road. They will pave 1/2 the street on
Monday and the other half on Tuesday. Although one side of the street will
be open to vehicles and bicycles during the paving please avoid this area.
The new hot asphalt is not bike friendly and WILL NOT be good to your bike. The
County expects to cat track the striping on Wednesday and put down the new
striping either Thursday or Friday. The work on the bridge will also wrap
up next week and the temporary traffic signal will be removed.
