Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
Looking forward to seeing all of you Sunday,
Dale

Hi All,
I have been, and will continue riding the road on Tuesdays for the summer,
but I am riding the dirt on most Thursdays with the CMB crew. Its a great
group, so get out and join in the fun either Tuesday or Thursday.
The ride schedule for this week is as follows, per Ben Griffes with CMB:
**
Tuesday we're riding in Wildwood (so many choices). Meet at the end of Los
Arboles Ave at 6:00 pm
Thursday we're riding in Chesebro. Meet in the front parking lot at 6:00 pm
**
Most of the rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours.
Our rides are done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is
an intermediate paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but, lets stay together
within our groups, and have a fun safe time.
Always make sure you have your helmet (mandatory),water, spares, and a
light (in winter).
See you soon on the road or trail!

Yup, yours truly does it again!
The date for the Coastal Coffee Ride mentioned in this week's Preview is incorrect. The correct date is July 12, NOT July 19. I apologize for the confusion.
FYI, all club away rides are on the second Saturday of the month.
I've been in touch with the owner of the Sandbox Cafe in Ventura, where we'll be stopping, and they are very cyclist friendly, so I hope you all can make it.
Thanks all!

CVC RIDE PREVIEW
June 28-July 3
-UPCOMING-
Coastal Coffee Ride-Saturday, July 19
We're in the Tour de France mood and want to go a little more European, so we'll do a nice ride along the coast from Leo Carrillo to Ventura and stop for coffee and snacks on the way back. For you data driven souls, that'll add 15-20 extra minutes to the ride but, hey, c'est la vie! So clear your calendars and get those "honey do's" done so we can all enjoy another great day in the saddle.
It's basically a Metric Century and virtually flat, so you can do as little or as much as you want. More details as the date approaches.
-THE RIDES-

** This is considered a "no drop" ride. The ride leader will keep an eye on everyone. No one is left behind.
All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.
If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader.
It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well.
That’s all for now, folks. Have a great week!

What: CVC GO Thursday Ride @ 5:30 p.m.
When: Thursday June 26, 2014
Route: North Ranch #3 *
DISTANCE: 23
miles. PACE: This is an intermediate level ride. The
group includes mixed paces averaging 13 - 15+ mph.
NO DROPS: The leader will sweep behind the group or wait ahead at
strategic points/turns along the route, as needed, so nobody gets left behind.
Faster riders who are familiar with the course and who prefer to ride ahead are
encouraged to do so; they need not wait at regroup points.
DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the dam,
Westlake Tennis Club and Westlake Lake Management building. From the 101
Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on
Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area. Park along the
curb.
* This 23 mile route is based on a previous North Ranch route that someone recently created for CVC, but with
a couple of changes: 1) It starts from Triunfo; and 2) Rather than taking a LT
at Fountainwood or Laro, this route takes a RT from Kanan onto Fountainwood and
follows Fountainwood/Gray Rock up and around to a LT on Laro. Laro continues back down to Kanan
where we can cross the intersection @ the green light rather than attempting to
make a LT during rush hour.
QUESTIONS: Email or call Sherrie at hatoolah(a)msn.com / 908.432.3480.

5. If you hear someone call out “clear” while approaching a
turn or intersection, or anywhere else for that matter, please disregard it and
make your own decision about the safety status of the turn or intersection.
6. If you start with the group but decide to cut the ride
short or take a different route, please let me know.
