Hey CVC,
The weather looks great this weekend, with warmer temps in the 70s, and very light winds.
On Saturday, we have four rides going out. The Red Ride will be heading out through Hidden Valley, drop to the beach, south on PCH and back up Latigo Canyon. The Orange will going through TO, down the Norweigen Grade, descend Santa Rosa Valley through Camarillo then back up Encinal Canyon. The Gold ride will be rolling north through Thousand Oaks out to Simi Valley to do a Wood Ranch Loop up over Long Canyon and return on Sinaloa. And the Purple Ride is going to ride up Reyes Adobe and through Oak Park, or a nice Out-n-Back through Hidden Valley (there's a rumor purple riders will also receive free Cliff Blocks?).
On Sunday, we've got two rides. The G.O. Ride will head through Thousand Oaks, drop down through Santa Rosa Valley, then north through Somis to ride Balcom, Stockton and Championship Drive. The Social ride is cruising up through Oak Park and Spring Valley then onto a descent of Kanan, and a loop over Fountainwood.

Then we've got midweek rides Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The Wednesday afternoon ride will resume the second week of January.
Always be more aware when riding with a group. You are the eyes of everyone behind you and the voice to point out obstacles, vehicles and other hazards. Keep your spacing generous and focus your efforts on the climbs.

Hey CVC,
With these hurricane strength winds today everywhere, we think it's best to
cancel the official rides. Safety is always our number one concern.
If you do ride today, be very careful of wind gusts and vehicle effects on
your riding.
Be safe and let's ride...maybe with David on Tuesday.
Best,
Bart, Paul and Kay

These routes look amazing, and I wish I could go, but I can't, so I will be

WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey CVC,
The weather looks like the perfect temperatures for riding this weekend, with no chance or rain but the Santa Ana winds from the NE are expected to return on Sunday. Our Saturday away ride heading south at the beach should have perfect weather all the way around though.

From Will Roger's State Beach at Temescal Canyon, we will ride south through Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Hermosa, Redondo and Palos Verdes. We will have a couple different groups rolling at moderate and cruise speeds. The plan is to meet up in Hermosa Beach for lunch. Come join us for a fun and easy ride without any mountains (I know, hard to imagine).
On Sunday, we've got three rides. The G.O. Ride will head over directly for Stunt up Cornell and Mulholland to the Top of the World and back. The Social ride is cruising up to Wildwood Park through Thousand Oaks, and back over Pederson and Erbes. And the Mountain Bike/Gravel ride will start in Newbury Park and hit some of the trails in the Dos Vientos area.

Hi CVC Members,
Great Holiday party, so good to see so many of you there! I am so
thankful for all of the members and volunteers of this club! On a happy
and thankful note, Alfonso took over a large amount of food to Manna and
provided them with a nice financial donation as well. Thank you all for
contributing on behalf of the Conejo Valley Cyclists.
We also made a nice cash donation to the fire victims through the
Salvation Army of Ventura County. Thanks everyone!
I wanted to remind you that the CVC clothing store will close in two
more days.
You can pick from arm warmers, to knee warmers, jackets, and vests.
Of course if you need a new jersey and bibs, then now is the time!
Perfect time for new members to get their club clothing!
Here is the link to the store.

Next year's CInco de Mayo will be our club Cruisin Event!
SAFETY REMINDERS
If there is a marked bike lane, cyclists may ride shoulder to shoulder. Single file otherwise. There is no three or four abreast at any time while moving. If you are wearing a CVC kit, you represent the club, so please be sure to follow the rules of the road.
When riding with CVC, you agree to:
* Wear a helmet and ensure my bike is in good working order.
* Ride to the right, pass on the left.
* Ride in the bike lane (where available) and signal when moving into another lane.
* Ride no more than two abreast in the bike lane, single file on narrow roads, and avoid "Swarming" (bunching up and multiplying the chance of accidents)
* Call out and point if I see a traffic hazard
* Respect ALL traffic laws and the rights of all autos, bicycles, and pedestrians
* Ride predictably and remind other to be safe * Be a bicycling ambassador
PARKING
Please remember when parking at The Landing for any weekend morning rides to park and congregate towards the far end of the lot away from the street and use the middle row. Do not park next to the homes.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
The Purple ride is considered a no drop. Having said that, please note that if you are falling behind or slower than the average pace, you may be dropped. All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always, we will try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.
If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
