Dear Conejo Valley Cyclists,
The board has had the chance to discuss the newest information from the
California Department of Public Health. Due to the current downtrend of
Covid outbreaks, the state has set forth new outdoor sports guidelines.
Youth sports will be making a comeback, as will many other low and moderate
contact outdoor sports. Triunfo Park hosts many of these outdoor group
activities. Take the extra cars that this reopening event will bring to the
park, and combine it with the "rumor" that we are moving up to the red
tier, and we can conclude that the park will no longer be appropriate for
our ride starts.
Effective March 6th, we will go back to meeting at The Landing so that we
can safely distance from each other at our start, and to enable the
neighborhood to have ample parking for the families and others that utilize
the park directly.
Please continue to wear a mask.
Do not show up for the rides if you are not feeling good, and be respectful
of others and keep that 6 foot distance.
And remember, we are at the Landing. CVC Board asks you not to park along
the back wall of the condos and to save the front row for the patrons of
the shops of the Landing.
Thank you,
See you next weekend at THE LANDING.
Sincerely,
Sheri Leiken and CVC Board

Hey CVCrs,
Since this will be our penultimate Tuesday CVC MTB ride for the winter, I thought we would do something fun. We’re going to ride the Lang Ranch area. It’s mostly fire roads with one singletrack section. But the really fun part is that we are going to meet at Sapwi Comminty park and ride the Sapwi bike park!
There is something for everybody to play on there and it is great practice for your MTB skills. I’ll give you all a personal tour of the place and get you started.
We are going to ride the bike park from 5 to 6 PM, and then go on our loop, which is obviously shorter than normal. We will meet in the Sapwi Community Park parking lot off of Westlake Boulevard at Rainfield Ave. When you pull off of Westlake Boulevard, make sure you turn right and park in the lower parking lot. The bike park is past the yellow gate and down the hill. You’ll be able to see it easily.
As usual make sure your lights are charged, and you have your spares and water. You will also need a tail light for this ride as we will be on the streets for a portion of the ride.
Looking forward to seeing you out there for this fun opportunity!

Hey CVC’rs,
Here is your virtual Zwift ride schedule for this week!
We are running rides on Monday (Kent Koral) and Tuesday/Thursday (Shane Mann) from 5:30pm-7:00PM
This time window allows riders some flexibility since you can now join a Zwift meetup up to 30 minutes after it has started (cool!)
Monday will be in Watopia riding the “Sand and Sequoias” route with Kent Koral. It will utilize the "meetup only view" function. We will NOT use the “keep everyone together” (rubber band) function on this ride, but I will keep us all together. This is a recovery ride and we will ride together at a nice easy pace.
This will be on Zoom. See further below for more Zoom information.
https://zwiftinsider.com/routes/
Tuesday will be in Watopia riding the “Beach Island Loop ” route with Shane Mann. It will utilize the "meetup only view" function and also the “keep everyone together” function. This will be on Zoom. See further below for more Zoom information.
https://zwiftinsider.com/routes/
Thursday will be in Watopia riding the “Road to Ruins” route with Shane Mann. It will utilize the "meetup only view" function and also the “keep everyone together” function. This will be on Zoom. See further below for more Zoom information.
https://zwiftinsider.com/routes/
You will need to use the Zwift Companion app to make sure you are following both Shane and Kent so that we can add you to the rides if you are have not already done so. Please make sure you are following us by 4PM on The day of the ride (you only have to do this once) so that we can have everybody on the invite that wants to ride..
For the Zoom meeting rides, make sure you download the Zoom app ahead of time. Then using the link (see below), join the zoom meeting. Zoom will give you the option of transmitting both audio and video out to the meeting, or just audio if you want to forgo the video feed. This is another great option we utilize to keep the chat fun and lively. You will still be able to see those that are feeding video. Again, there are many YouTube videos out there that you can watch to learn everything you need to know about Zoom meetings.
Feel free to reach out to us via text if you have any questions.
We are both looking forward to riding and having fun with you all in the incredible world of Zwift!

Hey CVCrs,
for tomorrow nights 2nd/4th CVC winter MTB ride series, we will be riding the Backbone/Etz Malloy off of Encinal. We will meet at the Backbone trail head on Encinal Canyon Road and ride at 5:30 sharp. This is a fun, flowy trail that climbs up to the top of the ridge. We do it as an out and back. We will not likely ride the switch back section down to little sycamore but stop at the top and turn around. This is a really fun beautiful ride with great views and a gentle trail with moderate climbing in spots. Make sure to have your lights charged, water, and spares. As usual, there will be fun accoutrements at the end of the ride.
Looking forward to seeing everyone as we are counting down to the last rides of the series for the winter!!
