Upcoming Events:
Lots of fun on your Classic and not so Classic wheels; beach cruisers,
tricycles, fixes, whatever you have with peddles bring it out and have a
fantastic time.
Join us on Sunday July15th, 2012 at 9:00 AM for a ride with your classic
lightweight road/race bicycle. Many have, collect, and enjoy the “old” bikes.
There are not too many opportunities for group rides dedicated to the Classics
so we at CVC have created our own quarterly Classic Bicycle Ride. We plan on a
relaxed pace ride through Hidden Valley, past the estates of the rich and
famous, and back, approximately 20 miles. After the ride we invite you to bring
a stand and display your classic and socialize with other bicycle enthusiasts at
the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and the Natural Café.
Alternate route around the Lake for the cruising riders and Tricycles.
If you do not have a classic but you’d like to ride with us you are welcome to
participate.

To see Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Purple Ride, click here:
http://www.cvcbike.org/?p=3127
The Purple ride is a beginner club ride with a 12-13 mph average pace but is
open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make
sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to
Saturday and make any necessary repairs.
Although the Purple ride is a "no drop" ride, for the enjoyment and safety of
the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average.
If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple level,
please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some pointers and
advise. We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the riders! The best
stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride around Westlake! When you
can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to 14 mph pace, and still feel ready
for more, then you will be able to handle many of the standard Purple routes.

CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, July 1 - 9:00am
Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner)
Hidden Valley / Green Meadow MUP Route
Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average Speed/Pace). 30 miles maximum and stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. Please remember this is a social paced recovery ride and while that may mean slightly different paces for different people, I attempt to keep the group together as a whole on these rides. The theory is to recover from our Saturday training rides and socialize.
Off we will go through Hidden Valley and climb up the hill to Treasure Hill Ranch. A quick descent to a right on Reino Drive where we then take Lynn Road to Green Meadow Drive and cut though the well hidden Multi Use Path behind the Los Robles Golf Course which runs us out on to Moorpark Road. Down Moorpark Road and up our new favorite hill, Las Padres Drive which connects un into the surgical center on Halland Drive which parallels the 101 FWY to Rancho Road. From there up Rancho Road to La Granada Drive where it connects to Conejo School Road. Down Conejo School Road through a few more lightly traveled residential streets and back.
See you there,
Dale
After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food establishments.
Note: Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the shops or market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants we could be asked to park elsewhere

The club will buy meats to BBQ (Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, etc).
Members, feel free to bring your favorite side dishes to share (see
below for side dish additional information).
*** Please RSVP if you are planning on attending this event so that
we may get an accurate count of guests.*
*** We will need 2-3 volunteers to take care of the BBQing duties.
Please contact me if you will take on this important task!*
*Please note this is an exclusive invite to currently active CVC
members and family only. If you are not a current CVC member and
would like to join, *
*you can do so now by following the below link:*
https://www.bikereg.com/Net/14891
Additional Information:
#1 You may wonder how many people to plan for in regards to the side dishes
you will be bringing. Since we will have quite a large group, it would not
be reasonable to plan to have a portion for everyone.
If your side dish could feed 10 people, that would be adequate as we will
have a lot of side dishes from our members to choose from.
The club will buy meats to BBQ (Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, etc).
#2 NO alcohol is allowed on park property.
#3 If you are a vegetarian or vegan, please let me know so items can be
planned accordingly.
#4 One more thing, you MUST have fun! There are some fun child (and adult)
related parts of the park right by the Pavilion we have reserved. Play
areas with playground equipment as well as a cool splash pad / water play area.
Any other questions, please reply to me directly.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
