Hello Team Conejo Valley Cyclists! We have some unsold jerseys left from Cruisin the Conejo. There are limited sizes available. If you would like one, I can bring it to the club get together next Sunday. Please send me the sizes you are interested in. The jerseys are available for $70. And. one lucky Cruisin volunteer will be selected for a raffle win at Sunday's get together! A few small items will be raffled off to our Cruisin Volunteers as well. CVC RIDE PREVIEW May 30-April 4 "Stopping!" ..... With everyone in a group coming to a full stop, there is a domino effect of the back end having to hammer it in order to catch up. So, for those in front, please soft pedal until the entire group has come through and re-joined. -COMING UP- Several things on the horizon! Gravel Ride-New Sunday, June 7, 9am in Dos Vientos Inaugural ride will be Sycamore Canyon to the beach and back. A little road, a little dirt, lots of fun. Put some tread or knobbies on your road bike, or use your MTB or cyclocross bike for exploring the fire roads in our 'back yard'. Rides range from 19 to 25 miles depending on our sunlight availability. Thursday: Morning Ride-9am-Leader: Sheila Levine-Sherwyn From The Landing Route to be determined, 25-40 miles Go Thursday Ride**-5:30pm Starting locations and routes vary, so check your emails during the week. This is an intermediate level ride that starts and ends at local watering holes, so you can finish up with some food, refreshments, and socializing with your cycling friends. MTB Ride-5:30pm Location and route TBA. Check your emails for announcement early in the week. Please remember when parking at The Landing for any weekend morning rides to park and congregate towards the far end of the lot away from the street and use the middle row. Do not park next to the homes. ** This is considered a "no drop" ride. The ride leader will keep an eye on everyone. No one is left behind. All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. That’s all for now, folks. Hey CVC'rs' May is always a very busy month for the club — Cruisin' the Conejo, Ride of Silence, & The Barry Wolf GP. Before we get too busy with our summer riding, let's take a break and have some fun off the bike. The Conejo Valley Cyclists Board of Directors would like to invite you to our annual summer mixer for a little good cheer. The fast paced Rock Store ride continues on Tuesday May 26th at 5:30 pm PDT sharp. The ride leaves from the Landings parking lot. Mellow single/double pace line until Cornell. How bout a ride to start your holiday off with hosts Kent and Sheri? Leaving from The Landing for a ride through T.O. via Hillcrest, to Newbury Park, through Ventu Park, Dos Vientos area and back through Hidden Valley. This is about 32-34 miles. This is a social paced ride. See you at the Landing at 9:00 am!
