Hey CVCrs Finally a Friday.... Below is a re-cap of the rides this weekend and next week. See the ride leaders individual posts on the mail list for more information. Saturday: 8:30am Start at Citibank/Sprouts parking lot at Westlake Bl and Agoura Rd. - Purple: Hidden Valley with Beth - Gold Wood Ranch/Moorpark with Dale - Orange: Portrero/PCH/Mullholland with Norm - Red: Portrero/PCH/TBD with Jim Sunday: 9:00am start at Citibank/Sprouts parking lot at Westlake Bl and Agoura Rd. - Purple: Wildwood loop with John - Social: Lang Ranch/Agoura with Adam Next Week: - Tuesday Night MTB Ride - Sheri's Wednesday Afternoon Landing Ride Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday October 2nd - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Avg. Speed). 25-30 miles max. and then stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. This week we will warm up by going around the lake and then towards Conejo School Road/La Granada pass through to Erbes. North down the hill on Erbes to Arboles where we will go up and around our Lang Ranch loop. >From there a slight climb up Westlake to Valley Spring where we will wind our way up and around County Club Drive back out to Kanan. Kanan to Fountainwood which we will use to connect back into Thousand Oaks Blvd. An optional Forest Cove - Reyes Adobe to Lake Lindero scenic ride and then back to socialize. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. CVC Sunday Purple Ride -- Sunday Oct 2nd - 9:00 am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Wildwood Loop Hi Purple Riders, This Sunday, we will ride out to Wildwood. ****I know Christine did this last week, but we need to avoid some construction and traffic related to Reyes Adobe Days*** Below is a link to the Ride With GPS website that will show you the route. Be sure to print out a route slip if you are unfamiliar with the area. The ride is 20.9 miles with only 1410 ft. of climbing. It'll be fun! CVC Saturday Gold Ride, 8:30am start

CVC Saturday Gold Ride, Oct 1, 8:30am Meeting at the Sprouts parking lot, Westlake Village, (corner of Westlake Blvd & Agoura Rd)* *Route: Wood Ranch, Simi Valley, Moorpark. 38 miles with 2,400' climbing Hey Gold Riders, Lets head out towards Wood Ranch, West Simi Valley, Moorpark College and back. Have not gone that way in a while. Dale Smith will be leading the ride this Saturday. Basic Route: Erbes to Olsen, Wood Ranch Parkway, Long Canyon, First Street to the Arroyo / Simi Bike path, Easy street to Collins, Moorpark College, Moorpark, Read Rd, Erbes, Hillcrest, Pentagon park and back to the finish. The Gold Ride is an intermediate recreational ride, 30 to 40 miles in length with an average pace of 13+ mph. It is not a "no drop" ride but as always let's try to stick together as much as possible. If you are new to CVC or just trying us out please let me know before we start. Remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we do not respect the requests of the lease tenants we could be asked to park elsewhere. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as the Natural Cafe', Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc,. /Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Hi Everyone, This week we will ride Portrero to the coast and back Mulholland. The route that I had to cancel a few weeks back due the Malibu Triathlon. For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/290215 As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 8:30AM prior to splitting into our groups and departing. The Orange ride is an intermediate/advanced recreational ride 40 to 50 miles in length with an average pace of 15+mph. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe ride. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Thursday bike ride/picnic - Hidden Valley loop

This is the *FINAL* Thursday night bike ride and picnic for 2011! Due to loss of daylight, we're ending the picnic rides tomorrow. C'mon out and join us before it's over! If you can't make the bike ride, at least come for the picnic. Thursday, *September 29th*, 5:30 p.m. (Around-the-lakers can start at any time - picnic @ ~7:00) Westlake Village Start (directions below) *Route:* Hidden Valley - Triunfo to Westlake to Potrero, Lake Sherwood Drive, Potrero, Hidden Valley Road and same way back, and around Westlake lake on return…approximately 20 miles. For CVC'rs, longer ride is between a "gold" and "orange" level. No drops. I wait for the slowest rider. *RIDE START:* Triunfo Road just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building in Westlake Village. (From the 101 Fwy, take Lindero Cyn. south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards…where there's grass, sidewalk, the lake…and park along the curb.) *TIME:* Those wishing to get in ~20 miles, 5:30, ready to ride. Those just going around the lake can show up at any time. *PICNIC:* After riding - picnic starts around 7:00 p.m. (where the cars are parked). *WHAT TO BRING:* HELMET AND BIKE! For picnic, bring something to share (cheese, crackers, fruit, olives, pretzels, cookies, whatever…), a beverage (and something to drink it in if you don't want to drink out of the bottle), something to SIT on and a warm jacket. Also bring any friends, neighbors, relatives, S.O.'s and anyone else who might like to join us (preferably with bikes). Don't forget spare tubes, water bottles, etc. ROUTES: Longer ride: Routes will include Hidden Valley, Lake Malibou, North Ranch, and wherever. Around the lake: cruise around the lake in wide bike lanes…no left turns…~5 miles each loop…all flat, no discernible hills. If you wish to be removed from this e-mail list (unless you're getting the notice from CVC), please let me know. Also, feel free to pass the information on to friends, family and S.O's. Citibank start location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS".
