If you have gmail, there has been some issues receiving emails. Please do
the following:
It is likely being caught in your spam filter.
1. Change your email to put anything from cvcbike.org onto a
"whitelist".
Instructions here:

Thanks,
Sheri
Some of you may not have received, so this is a duplicate.
Word is out that there is work and repaving done on the LANDING Parking lot
this weekend. It may just be one day.
If that is the case, there should be at least "some" places left to park in
the lot, and if not, we will just need to park along Lindero and side
streets, and find each other close to the entrance in a logical place.
Please don't block the bike lane while meeting. Perhaps even by the
launching area that could be seen from the street. Please watch for signs in
the lot advising when and when NOT to park there.
This is a slight inconvenience that will be just fine because WE have bikes
to ride to the exact location to meet up at even if we have to park a block
away. WOOHOO!
Sincerely,
Sheri Leiken
CVC President
It's that time of year again.. Opening up the summer fun to everyone!
LAST DATY OF JULY!
This Sunday, time to take out your beach cruisers, your easy going bikes,
hybrids, mountain, old road bikes, new road bikes, and let's head to the
beach. To avoid "some" crowd, lets meet in the Marina Del Rey parking lot
and head south, bypassing Venice beach crowd. Just take Marina Freeway.
Go to the parking lot closest to Marina Del Rey Visitors Center where we
will meet:

The visitors center has a bathroom, so let's plan on meeting there at 10:00
Sunday morning!
Eating, refreshments, and loads of fun along the way.
Your CVC Fun team!
Dear CVC Members,
I have boxes of JERSEYS from past cruisin years. Mostly 2010 to present. Also some old CVC kits.
This is a fabulous deal for cycling jerseys and I won't be doing this too much longer.
Call me 818-292-2763 and I can tell you if I have your size.

WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey CVC,
The weather is forecast as moderate in the 80s, but it is July so drink plenty and keep your bottles topped off.
On Saturday, we have three routes, including the red ride dropping to the beach and doing Deer Creek, Yerba and up Encinal. The Orange is headed to the beach too, over Westlake and back up Latigo. The Gold is headed for a loop through Newbury Park and Dos Vientos.
Sunday the Red group is doing Mulholland and Stunt with a drop down Fernwood and return via Old Topanga, with the GO ride doing a loop through Thousand Oaks to Dos Vientos. Or you can do the Social ride up Carlisle Canyon and back.
Midweek rides are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, including the Rock Store race ride Tuesday night, cruise rides Tuesday and Thursday mornings, the Wednesday Pub Ride, and mountain biking on Thursday afternoon.
We are planning a Newcomers Ride to begin soon. Keep your eye out for more info and contact me if you have any input.
Please be extra careful and wary of road debris. Look out for each other so we can avoid possible accidents. Call it out and keep your friends behind you safe!
Let me know if I can help with anything bike or ride-related. I always have extra Clif bars, equipment and my toolbox, pump, etc.
And let's ride!

SAFETY REMINDERS
One by One, Two by Two!
If there is a marked bike lane, cyclists may ride shoulder to shoulder.Single file otherwise. There is no three or four abreast at any time while moving. If you are wearing a CVC kit, you represent the club, so please be sure to follow the rules of the road. When riding with CVC, you agree to:* Wear a helmet and ensure my bike is in good working order.* Ride to the right, pass on the left.* Ride in the bike lane (where available) and signal when moving into another lane.* Ride no more than two abreast in the bike lane, single file on narrow roads, and avoid "Swarming" (bunching up and multiplying the chance of accidents)* Call out and point if I see a traffic hazard* Respect ALL traffic laws and the rights of all autos, bicycles, and pedestrians* Ride predictably and remind other to be safe* Be a bicycling ambassador
PARKING
Please remember when parking at The Landing for any weekend morning rides to park and congregate towards the far end of the lot away from the street and use the middle row. Do not park next to the homes.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
The Purple ride is considered a no drop. Having said that, please note that if you are falling behind or slower than the average pace, you may be dropped. All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always, we will try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.
If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
How about some Dos Vientos this week. Plenty hot out there, so I figure let's move as far west as we can get. Let's start at the parking lot just West of the Rocking K rentals on Potrero Road.we will ride at 5:30.
Don't forget plenty of water and your helmet.
