CVC Sunday Social Ride – Sunday 9:00 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner), this is a longer social route with options to make it shorter. Route: Agoura to Juan Bautista De Anza for Restroom and Water, East on Mulholland then right on Cold Canyon Road to Piuma, right on Piuma and re-group at the fire station, Piuma to Las Virgenes, left on Mulholland to Cornell and around the Lake. Hi Everyone, On Sunday starting at 9:00 AM the Social Ride is riding to De Anza Park, through Cold Canyon to Piuma returning on Las Virgenes to Mulholland then Cornell with a finishing lap around Westlake. Piuma Fire Station Water, restroom is available if the station is open Cornell and Mulholland. It is mandatory to have and ware a helmet and it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. CVC Saturday Local Red, Orange and Gold, Level Ride – Saturday 8:00 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Red, Rockstore to Encinal up Little Sycamore and back to start. Orange can ride back on Decker and bypass Little Sycamore and Gold can return on Mulholland. Hi Everyone, On Saturday starting at 8:00 AM the Local Red, Orange and Gold Group is riding Rockstore to Encinal and Little Sycmore. Orange can return on Decker and Gold can return on Mulholland. All ride leaders will be riding the away ride. You assistance will be highly appreciated in leading the local rides. Route: Rockstore /Encinal/Little Sycamore. Try to ride over them minimizing tire contact and stay more upright to prevent accidents. 3) Goat head thorns have returned and caused six flats on this past week's Orange ride.Carry and extra tube or two - and even a patch kit for flat repairs After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc.. Thursday September 6th North Ranch Ride (5:30 pm Start)

Come on out and join CVC this Thursday September 6th for the North Ranch Ride. Please see the route slip for details. The Ride starts at 5:30 p.m. ROUTE: North Ranch DISTANCE: 20-25 miles. PACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+/15+ mph. NO DROPS: I wait for the slowest rider at strategic points along the route. DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area where we PICNIC after the ride. Park along the curb. PICNIC: If a QUORUM is present, the Post-Ride Picnic will begin around 7:00 p.m. Please bring something to share: cheese crackers, fruit, olives, pretzels, cookies, whatever; a beverage and something to drink it out of if you don't want to drink it out of the bottle; something to sit on and a warm jacket. I.D., water or sports drink, a snack, spare tube(s), CO2 cartridges or hand pump, patch kit, cell phone are recommended.2. Please do not call out "clear" at intersections. Seasonal safety issues:- Be prepared for heat. Stay hydrated. Carry a sports drink or capsules to keep your electrolytes in balance. Drink before you feel thirsty. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and offer assistance if you see another rider exhibiting these signs.- The tar used to repair asphalt roads can become semi-liquid and slippery on hot days. Example: The Decker/Westlake descent has multiple places where asphalt cracks have been sealed with tar. Use caution when riding over these areas in high heat.- Be prepared for flats. The “Goat’s Head” thorn, a.k.a. “Puncture Vine” a.k.a. Tribulus Terrestris, has returned to the roads we cycle on. Club rides are seeing an increase in flats caused by these thorns. Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermediate/Advanced Mountain Bike ride will ride Cheesebro. We will meet at the parking lot on Cheesebro Canyon about a 1/2 mile north of Drive Ave. Be ready to ride at 6pm. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. CVC Tuesday evening Beginner/Intermediate MTB ride. *This ride is a mix of fire roads and technical single track ridden at a slower pace than the advanced ride.* Meet at the parking lot at the west end of Avenida de los Arboles. Start time is 6:00pm. Route to be determined. The goal is to ride from 1.5 - 2 hrs and travel about 8 - 12 miles. You don't have to have a mountain bike if you're new to the sport. A bike with wide tires and maybe a little front suspension will do to get started. *Lights are now recommended. Currently it's getting dark by 8pm - just about the time the ride is finishing up. * After the ride we can go for some food and refreshments. For those of you interested in a goldish pace/distance ride, Kent and I are going to 7 Minute Hill. Route: Agoura Rd. to Malibu Hills Rd. Right on Lost Hills Stop at D'Anza Park. Down Las Virgenes to Mullholland, left, and so on!!!! We can decide at the guard shack to go through Calabasas, or back through Mullholland. 8:00-Sprouts Parking Lot Come along for some fun!
