CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, July 1 - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Hidden Valley / Green Meadow MUP Route Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average Speed/Pace). 30 miles maximum and stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. Please remember this is a social paced recovery ride and while that may mean slightly different paces for different people, I attempt to keep the group together as a whole on these rides. The theory is to recover from our Saturday training rides and socialize. Off we will go through Hidden Valley and climb up the hill to Treasure Hill Ranch. A quick descent to a right on Reino Drive where we then take Lynn Road to Green Meadow Drive and cut though the well hidden Multi Use Path behind the Los Robles Golf Course which runs us out on to Moorpark Road. Down Moorpark Road and up our new favorite hill, Las Padres Drive which connects un into the surgical center on Halland Drive which parallels the 101 FWY to Rancho Road. From there up Rancho Road to La Granada Drive where it connects to Conejo School Road. Down Conejo School Road through a few more lightly traveled residential streets and back. See you there, Dale After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food establishments.　 Note: Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the shops or market. CVC Saturday Purple Ride June 30th 8:30 AM Lobo Canyon (aka Petting Zoo) Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot: Westlake Blvd & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Lobo Canyon (aka Petting Zoo) Hi Purple Riders, This Saturday the Purples are scheduled for the "Petting Zoo" route. As usual, there will be an extra loop around Westlake at the end for those who would like and extra 5 flat miles. Here is a link to the Ride With GPS website that will show you the route. Be sure to print out a route slip if you are unfamiliar with the area. The ride is 18.8 miles with 902 ft. of climbing. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/303596 We will meet at Citibank (corner of Agoura Hills and Westlake), rolling out at 8:30 AM. Please come EARLY for parking! No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Saturday and make any necessary repairs. Although the Purple ride is a "no drop" ride, for the enjoyment and safety of the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average. If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple level, please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some pointers and advise. We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the riders! The best stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride around Westlake! When you can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to 14 mph pace, and still feel ready for more, then you will be able to handle many of the standard Purple routes. Where: We will be back at the same spot as in years past at Oak Canyon Park. 5600 Hollytree Dr., Oak Park (On Kanan just East of Lindero). We've been preparing for it. Now, it's gonna happen. Should be a GREAT day to ride. * Route: Out to the Coast via Potrero; Directly to the college; out to the coast; across PHC; Up Mulholland to the top; down Westlake Blvd and Home to soak our feet. 45.7 Miles; 3,533 Feet. (only 6 miles longer than last week & 500 feet more of climbing) Water & Toilets: The Fire Station - Mile 3.5 Water: The College - Mile 15 ** Water & Toilets: Sycamore Cove - Mile 26* *Water: The House on the Left after the 1st Stinger - Mile 39* Regroups will be... Weather forecast is for 84 Deg., at the start the temperature should be in the high 60 Deg. Hi Everyone,On Saturday June 30th. starting at 8:30 AM we are riding through Simi Valley to Box Canyon and returning through Calabasas. First re-group at te top of Country Club and Long Canyon, Next re-group at the Carl's Junior on Los Angeles Ave for restroom and water. Rolling re-group on the bottom of Box Canyon, Last restrooms and water at McDonald's on Agoura . Please be careful descending Box Canyon there are several steep turns. Please use the restroom before departing? CVC Tuesday Evening Novice to Intermediate MTB ride Meeting this week to Malibu Creek State Park. Starting at Juan Bautista park off Kanan Rd. http://goo.gl/maps/qdlm Start time is 6:00pm This weeks Novice MTB ride will be a new one. We will leave from Juan Bautista De Anza Park <http://goo.gl/maps/qdlm> to Malibu Creek State Park and Century Lake. From there we may decide to continue to the M.A.S.H site. About 10 miles total. A recommendation, there is tall grass along the trail and some tall socks could make things more comfortable. Joan Sauber cannot lead the ride this week so James Hickey be the ride leader. You do not need a fully suspended mountain bike or any particular mountain biking skills. We will help you get going. Come on out and give it a try! Thursday June 28 - Ride (5:30 pm) and Picnic (7:00 pm)

Come on out and join CVC this Thursday June 28th for a ride through the Hidden Valley featuring an out-and-back warm up ramble on Carlisle Road. The Ride starts at 5:30 p.m. The Post-Ride Picnic starts around 7:00 p.m. ROUTE: Triunfo to LT on Westlake. From Westlake Blvd., we will take a RT to head out-and-back on Carlisle Road. The Carlisle Ramble will be led by Sheri Leiken in a much anticipated Cameo Roll. Returning via Carlisle, we will take a LT on Westlake and continue with the standard Hidden Valley ride. DISTANCE: 20-25 miles PACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+ / 15+ mph. NO DROPS: I wait for the slowest rider at strategic points along the route. DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area where we PICNIC after the ride. Park along the curb. PICNIC: Starts around 7:00 p.m., immediately after we finish the ride. Please bring something to share: cheese crackers, fruit, olives, pretzels, cookies, whatever; a beverage and something to drink it out of if you don't want to drink it out of the bottle; something to sit on and a warm jacket. Bring your friends, neighbors, relatives, significant others, etc. BE PREPARED: A helmet is mandatory. Other things to bring include water or sports drink; I.D. Spare tube(s); CO2 cartridges or hand pump; patch kit; cell phone. SAFETY NOTE: Please do not call out "clear" at intersections. The intersection may not be clear for the rider(s) behind you. Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermidiate/Advanced Mountain Bike ride will ride Dos Vientos. Park at the trailhead on Portrero and Wendy Dr. Be ready to ride at 6pm. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride. Lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. At this point you probably wont need to use a light except in case we get caught out late. Hi Gold Riders, A quick reminder about Tuesdays evening gold ride to the Rock Store from Citibank location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. With the sun setting early lights make it much easier to see and be seen. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS".
