I won't be able to come this week, but will be there for sure the next. It will be a beautiful day, and we had a great ride last week. If you want to go this week, please enjoy without me and know I wish I could be there. Maybe a North Ranch route might be great! Sheri Landing is at the end of Lindero.

CVC MTB PM rides week of 10-21-13

Hi CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding in Chesebro. Meet in the front parking lot at 6:00 pm Thursday we're riding in Dos Vientos. Meet at Wendy and Potrero at 6:00 pm It is starting to get dark 1/3 the way through our rides, so you need to have your light. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. Our rides are done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. Sunday G.O. Ride October 20th.

Hi CVC Members and Guests, Our revised G.O. Ride Social Ride is typically 35 to 45 miles long with 2,200 to 4,200 feet of climbing and an average speed of 13 to 15 mph. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This Sunday it's off to Tapo Canyon via Erbes, Royal and Siquoa. Returning Erringer, Madera and Erbes. 42.5 miles. 4250 feet. Should you decide to deviate the ride course please notify the ride leader to prevent unnecessary or lengthily wait times at regrouping locations. This is a "drop ride" meaning that if you can't keep up with the group, and/or catch up within the re-group times - you are "on your own" to know the route from previous knowledge or by following the route slip. It is possible and/or probable that members can assist others with mechanical & other rider emergencies along the route however. Our re-group spots are meant to allow a short break & a chance for riders to catch up so that the group can ride together as much as is possible. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel the official club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. Conejo Valley Cyclists Vintage/Classic Bike Ride, October 20th, 2013 Join us for a Classic/Vintage Bike Ride on Sunday, October 20th. CVC has created its own quarterly classic lightweight/road race bike ride through Hidden Valley, Westlake Village, and Lake Sherwood. We have planned a relaxed paced ride through the "Tuscany" of Southern California, playground of the rich and famous, and enjoy, experience approximately 22 miles of scenic beauty. After the ride we will relax at CBTL or the Natural Café with the opportunity to display our bikes in front of these venues. Think of the event as a mini L’Eroica. The ride starts at 9AM from the Citi Bank Parking lot (plenty of free parking) located at the corner of Westlake and Agoura Blvds. in Westlake Village. If you do not have a classic bike but would like to ride with us you are welcome to participate. One must wear a helmet in order to participate and, if you are not a CVC club member, you must sign a release. CVC reminder-COSCA Trail Day

Hi CVC'rs Another quick reminder about the COSCA Trail Day.... On October 19th,the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA), CORBA, and the Santa Monica Trails Council are having the Conejo Open Space Annual Trail Work Day. The trail work area will be on the Western Plataea, an area that many of you ride and hike. The Conejo Open Space is made up of in part, the area around Space Mountain(the Los Robles Trail that runs from Westlake to Sycamore Canyon), the aforementioned Western Plateau (west of Wildwood), and some other notable areas around the Conejo Valley. Hence, I want to get as many of us together from the CVC as we can to take part in this effort. I will also be putting this out to the Conejo Mountain Bike club which also has a great deal of trail users within the ranks. Please look into making time to go out and give a little back to the trails and organizations that give us so many riding and hiking opportunities!!
