Hi CVC Members and Guests, Our revised G.O. Ride formerly called the Sunday Social Ride is typically 35 to 45 miles long with 2,200 to 4,200 feet of climbing and an average speed of 13 to 15 mph. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This Sundays G.O. Ride is as follows: Route: Westlake to Arboles left on Parkview then a Left on Erbes follow by a Right on La Granada, we will ride up Lynn to Dos Vientos and returning on Portrero. This route is recent addition to the rotation so have a route slip if you are unfamiliar with these directions. For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1718765 Re-grouping Locations: Westlake and Arboles. La Granada and Erbes rolling re-group Greenmeadow multi use path. Dos Ventos Community Center for Restroom and Water This is a "drop ride" meaning that if you can't keep up with the group, and/or catch up within the re-group times - you are "on your own" to know the route from previous knowledge or by following the route slip. It is possible and/or probable that members can assist others with mechanical & other rider emergencies along the route however. Our re-group spots are meant to allow a short break & a chance for riders to catch up so that the group can ride together as much as is possible. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel the official club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. Have fun and ride safe, Dale

CVC ORANGE Ride -- Saturday, September 14, 2013 -- 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot -- Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups to depart. Route: Cornell to Mulholland, stopping at King Gillette Ranch for restrooms and water. Seven Minute Hill to Topanga, returning on Old Topanga, and through Calabasas. Regroups: Rolling re-group at Mulholland and Cornell Re-group at King Gillette Ranch for restroom and water Re-group at the top of seven minute hill Re-group at the top of Topanga if necessary Re-group at McDonald's (corner of Las Virgenes Road and Agoura Road) For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/997176 Ride leader/s for this ride will be: Ken Reed (805) 338-4859 The Orange is an Intermediate to advanced ride, 40+ miles in length. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together. CVC Gold/Orange Riders, it's back by popular demand! Let's ride the Rock Store route again this week. I am including a link to the route that leader Dale takes on Tuesday as a reference, although our route will be slightly different.Please note: We will begin from our usual starting place on Triunfo Canyon Road. *All CVC'rs* *Conejo Valley Cyclists 4th Annual Summer BBQ * *When: Sunday, Sept 15th from 1pm until 5pm.* *Where: At our new **picnic** location at the Conejo Creek North Park at the Creekside Pavillion. **1379 W Janss Road. * *Thousand Oaks, CA 9136* *The club will buy meats to BBQ (Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, etc) and supply drinks. Members, Please bring your favorite side dishes to share (see below for side dish additional information)* ***If you have not already done so, Please RSVP if you are planning on attending and how many in your party. Also let me* *know what side dish you are **bringing.* *** We will need 2-3 volunteers to take care of the BBQing duties. Hi CVC Tues Racer & Red RidersAlthough the sun is setting at 7:15pm we still have been able to complete this ride in slightly dusky conditions.A headlight & taillight might be a good idea for visibility to motorists though. 5:30pm Tues. CVC PM MTB week of 9-9-13

Hey CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding in Lang Ranch. Meet at the end of Lang Ranch :Pkwy at 6:00 pm.. Thursday we're riding in Wildwood, probably ride in the Western Plateau. Meet in the parking lot at the end of Los Arboles at 6:00 pm We have been finishing close to, and in some cases after dark so at this point you should probably have your light with you. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is a ride done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. This week we will go Norwegian Grade style with a Read Road Bypass return. Climbing Erbs to Arboles and up Westlake Blvd. 36 miles and 2950 ft. Should you decide to deviate the ride course please notify the ride leader to prevent unnecessary or lengthily wait times at regrouping locations.
