CVC Zwift Meetup rides week of 11/2

Hey CVCrs, I usually try to get these out on Sunday, but missed it by that much! But for all you Zwifter’s, here’s what is going on this week. We are running on Monday (Kent Koral) and Thursday (Shane Mann) from 5:30pm-7:00PM This time window allows riders some flexibility since you can now join a Zwift meetup up to 30 minutes after it has started (cool!) Monday will be in France riding the “Roule Ma Poule” route with Kent Koral. It will utilize the "meetup only view" Meetup function. We will NOT use the rubber band on this ride, but I will keep us all together. This will be on Zoom. It will utilize the "meetup only view" and. "keep everyone together" Meetup functions. this will be on Zoom. Please make sure you are following us by 4PM on The day of the ride (you only have to do this once) so that we can have everybody on the invite that wants to ride.. For the Zoom meeting rides, make sure you download the Zoom app ahead of time. Then using the link (see below), join the zoom meeting. Zoom will give you the option of transmitting both audio and video out to the meeting, or just audio if you want to forgo the video feed. This is another great option we utilize to keep the chat fun and lively. You will still be able to see those that are feeding video. Again, there are many YouTube videos out there that you can watch to learn everything you need to know about Zoom meetings. Feel free to reach out to us via text if you have any questions. *Thursdays ride starts NEXT THURSDAY, November 5th!!!!!! * This begins the daylight savings afternoon ride, or is the lack of daylight or something like that? We do the typical Sunday sort of routes, about 20 miles or so... It is a great afternoon, get out the door, ride! This Saturday's Ride 10/31 + Nosco Zwift Ride

Dear Conejo Valley Cyclists, This coming weekend, your team at CVC will be supporting the Mike Nosco Foundation. Many of you know that the Nosco Ride is a long time favorite challenge in the Conejo Valley. This ride was formed to honor Mike Nosco whose life was tragically taken too soon. Over the years, amazing cyclists, volunteers, friends, and family turned out in the thousands to participate in what has become known as the "Nosco ride". This year we are trying to keep up a small part of the tradition virtually and also and in a much smaller scale group out on the road. The Nosco Ride supports financial relief to families and/or individuals who are confronting a life threatening illness.The recipients for 2020 are already selected and are available on the website. They are all facing horrific illnesses and your support may provide them with a little less worry. Normally, the ride would take place on November 3rd, the day that Mike Nosco passed. However, due to Covid, an actual road ride with hundreds of riders will be impossible to manage within Health guidelines, so CVC will be doing its part on *Saturday, October 31st*, by suggesting that our club riders face a challenge of their own, and ride the routes in honor of Mike and those that are suffering. Club member and former Orange Ride Leader Gary Silver will be out nourishing us at a regroup spot on the 3 longer routes and will provide some snacks for CVC members. We do ask that you do not linger due to our 2020 "no large gathering" time. Gary Silver will be at the Leo Carillo lot after the Mullholland left turn. Details on pre-ride announcement at the start.
