*Conejo Valley Cyclists 4th Annual Summer BBQ * *When: Sunday, Sept 15th from 1pm until 5pm.* *Where: At our new **picnic** location at the Conejo Creek North Park at the Creekside Pavillion. **1379 W Janss Road. * *Thousand Oaks, CA 9136* *The club will buy meats to BBQ (Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, etc) and supply drinks. Members, Please bring your favorite side dishes to share (see below for side dish additional information)* ***If you have not already done so, Please RSVP if you are planning on attending and how many in your party. Also let me* *know what side dish you are **bringing.* *** We will need 2-3 volunteers to take care of the BBQing duties. Please contact me to help with this important task!* * * *Please note this is an exclusive invite to currently active CVC members and family only. If you are not a current CVC member and would like to join, **you can do so now by following the below link: **https://www.bikereg.com/Net/17847* Additional Information: #1 You may wonder how many people to plan for in regards to the side dishes you will be bringing. Since we will have quite a large group, it would not be reasonable to plan to have a portion for everyone. If your side dish could feed 8-10 people, that would be adequate, as we will have a lot of side dishes from our members to choose from. The club will buy meats to BBQ (Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, etc) and supply drinks. #3 If you are a vegetarian or vegan, please let me know so items can be planned accordingly. #4 One more thing, you MUST have fun! There are some fun child (and adult) related parts of the park right by the Pavilion we have reserved. Play areas with playground equipment, volleyball courts and a great creek feature. CVC PM MTB rides this week 9-3-13

Hey CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding Switchbacks/Space Mtn. Meet at the end of Moorpark Rd. at 6:00 pm Thursday we're riding in Dos Vientos. Meet at Wendy and Potrero at 6:00 pm We have been finishing close to, and in some cases after dark so at this point you should probably have your light with you. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is a ride done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. Hidden Valley Ride, Thursday Sept. 5 @ 5:15 p.m.

High heat forecasted for Thursday, so we will repeat Hidden Valley this week. ROUTE: Out-and-Back through Hidden Valley (those who want to ride a few extra miles can add the Carlisle extension). START TIME: 5:15 p.m. DISTANCE: 20-25 miles PACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+/15+ mph. NO DROPS:A no drop ride means that the leader will wait ahead at strategic points/turns along the route, or sweep behind the group as needed, so nobody gets left behind. Faster riders who are familiar with the course and who prefer to ride ahead are encouraged to do so; they need not wait at regroup points. DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area. Park along the curb. Tuesday 5:15 Rockstore Ride

Hi Gold Riders, We will start this Tuesday evening gold ride to the Rock Store from Citibank location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. With the sun setting early lights make it much easier to see and be seen. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS". Labor Day Ride 8:30

Kent will be leading a Labor Day ride from Citibank at 8:30 through Hidden Valley and Dos Vientos, returning through Multiuse Path on GreenMeadow. This ride is about 28-30 miles at a Gold/Orange Pace of 15+ avg. speed. Bring your bottles of water and let's head on up! See you Monday Morning at 8:30! Sheri
