Tuesday, 5:30 Rockstore Racer & Red Ride Reminder

Hi CVC Tues Racer & Red RidersAlthough the sun is setting at 7:15pm we still have been able to complete this ride in slightly dusky conditions.A headlight & taillight might be a good idea for visibility to motorists though. 5:30pm Tues. Racer & Red Ride: Jonathan W. is the Racer Ride Leader Jim D. riding in the back with any other Red Riders Westlake-Malibou Lake-Rock Store-Upper Encinal Canyon-Westlake 29.1 miles with 3,000' climbing. CVC PM MTB week of 9-9-13

Hey CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding in Lang Ranch. Meet at the end of Lang Ranch :Pkwy at 6:00 pm.. Thursday we're riding in Wildwood, probably ride in the Western Plateau. Meet in the parking lot at the end of Los Arboles at 6:00 pm We have been finishing close to, and in some cases after dark so at this point you should probably have your light with you. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is a ride done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. CVC Weekly Recap for the weekend of 9-7-2013 Hi All, Below is your recap of all things CVC for the week of 9-7-2013 ....It is still pretty warm out there, so be cool! ( I sound like Henry....) Don't Forget to mark you calenders for the Annual CVC Members BBQ on September 15th. If you haven't yet, send me your RSVP! Here is this weekend's club ride recap. Please refer to the individual ride announcement email for more specific ride details. Please note that, as has been announced, Ken Read is our new Saturday Orange Ride Captain. Also of note, we will no longer offer a Sunday Purple ride. *Saturday-8:30AM* Ride Start Location: Citibank/Sprouts parking lot at the corner of Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road. Please arrive early for announcements and general socializing. * * *Red Ride:* Westlake/Mulholland/PCH/Decker with Jim. 47 miles. *Orange Ride:* De Anza/Mulholland/Encinal/PCH/Mulholland* *with Jerry. 45 miles *Gold Ride:* T.O./NP/HV Loop with Henry. 34 miles *Purple Ride:* Ranch Conejo Open Space with Bill S. 25 miles * * *Sunday-9:00am* Ride Start Location: Citibank/Sprouts parking lot at the corner of Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road. Hi CVC Members and Guests, Our revised G.O. Ride formerly called the Sunday Social Ride is typically 35 to 45 miles long with 2,200 to 4,200 feet of climbing and an average speed of 13 to 15 mph. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This week we will go Norwegian Grade style with a Read Road Bypass return. Climbing Erbs to Arboles and up Westlake Blvd. 36 miles and 2950 ft. Possible extensions thru North Ranch, Oak Park and Old Agoura. For a detailed route slip go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2899417 At the ride start we will announce the regroup locations. Should you decide to deviate the ride course please notify the ride leader to prevent unnecessary or lengthily wait times at regrouping locations. This is a "drop ride" meaning that if you can't keep up with the group, and/or catch up within the re-group times - you are "on your own" to know the route from previous knowledge or by following the route slip. It is possible and/or probable that members can assist others with mechanical & other rider emergencies along the route however. Our re-group spots are meant to allow a short break & a chance for riders to catch up so that the group can ride together as much as is possible. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel the official club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Bill Sietsema will lead this week. *Route: Ranch Conejo Open Space; 25.5 Miles; 1,707 Feet * * **For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2809777** *The *Purple Ride* is an entry level ride no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. *This is a "no drop **ride**" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet.
