Hi all,
Looks like rain and pretty cold temps tomorrow. If the roads are wet, the ride will be officially cancelled. James Doan may do the Red Ride at 1p, however, there is no way to predict when and where the showers will be.
Bottom line, if the rides appear cancelled, Rule #5 will then be in effect, and those who care to show up and get a few miles in, (anyone?....anyone?) will be on their own, and the ride will not be sanctioned by CVC.
CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, December 7, 8:30 AM
Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart.
Route: 4 Lakes, 41, 3000 feet climbing
Water & restrooms: Borchard Park, mile 14
Bailout Options: Once coming back from Newbury Park, there are multiple options.
For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3743876
Ride leader this week: Cam (805) 217-6659
If you depart from the group ride for whatever reason, please pass along the information to the ride leader.
My blathering: "Man, what happened to my legs?" You find yourself having one of those days, no gas, every little grade is an effort, the hills feel like you're barely moving. Well, don't beat yourself up trying to stay with the lead group hammerfest. Let yourself drop back to the main group or even the stragglers and enjoy the scenery. Our bodies let us know when it's time to 'just ride'. It might just turn the day around from, "I so suck!" to "Hey, that was a nice ride."
The Gold Ride is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30+ miles in length and averaging 12-14 mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together.
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.
Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions: (805) 217-6659

Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours.
