*CVC PURPLE RIDE -- **Saturday, October 5th, 8:30 AM* Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. *There is no announce ride leader. If you are available to lead please let me know. Thanks.* *Route: Malibu Lake, Conejo Valley Cyclist; 25.0 Miles; 1,954 Feet* *For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/289483 *The *Purple Ride* is an entry level ride no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. *This is a "no drop **ride**" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.* ** *Inclement weather policy*: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ridein these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.

*CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, October 5th, 8:30 AM* Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. *Route: La Granada, Lynn, Dos Vientos, Potrero, Hidden Valley, Home; 33.5 Miles; 2,719 Feet **For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1737686 *The *Gold Ride* is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30-40+ miles in length and averaging 14+ mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. *This is a "drop **ride**" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together.* ** *Inclement weather policy*: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ridein these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. Days are getting shorter...so: ROUTE: Out-and-Back through Hidden Valley START TIME: 5:15 p.m. DISTANCE: 20 miles PACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+/15+ mph. NO DROPS:A no drop ride means that the leader will wait ahead at strategic points/turns along the route, or sweep behind the group as needed, so nobody gets left behind. Faster riders who are familiar with the course and who prefer to ride ahead are encouraged to do so; they need not wait at regroup points. DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area. Park along the curb. Route: To PCH through Potrero Canyon, and returning on Mulholland Distance: 49.1 mi Elevation: + 3676 / - 3681 ft Regroups: Re-group Cal State University Channel Islands for restrooms and water Re-group Sycamore Cove for restrooms and water Important Notice: The water stop at the "stingers" on Decker has been shut off. Be sure to fill your bottles completely at the Sycamore Cove re-group. Hi All I won't send this reminder out again next week but just to make sure you remember the change we made the previous week in Racer's Ride start time ( plus Dale's new Orange Ride start time) Don't forget front & rear lights - as the sun is setting around 6:40pm PLEASE NOTE - NEW FALL earlier starting times 5:00pm Tues. CVC Weekly MTB rides for 9-30-13

Hey CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding the Los Robles trail east to Triunfo and back. Meet at the end of Moorpark Rd. at 6:00 pm Thursday we're riding in Wildwood. Meet at the end of Ave de los Arboles at 6:00 pm It is starting to get dark midway through the ride, so at this point you need to have your light. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. Our rides are done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. Tuesday Rockstore ride...New start time!

Hi Fellow CVC Members and Guests, With the sun setting before 7:00 pm we are moving the start time to 5:00 pm for the remainder of the year. Front and rear lights are highly recommended! We will continue our Tuesday evening gold ride to the Rock Store from Citibank location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:00pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. With the sun setting early lights make it much easier to see and be seen. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS".
