Hi CVC'rs Another quick reminder about the COSCA Trail Day.... On October 19th,the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA), CORBA, and the Santa Monica Trails Council are having the Conejo Open Space Annual Trail Work Day. The trail work area will be on the Western Plataea, an area that many of you ride and hike. The Conejo Open Space is made up of in part, the area around Space Mountain(the Los Robles Trail that runs from Westlake to Sycamore Canyon), the aforementioned Western Plateau (west of Wildwood), and some other notable areas around the Conejo Valley. Hence, I want to get as many of us together from the CVC as we can to take part in this effort. I will also be putting this out to the Conejo Mountain Bike club which also has a great deal of trail users within the ranks. Please look into making time to go out and give a little back to the trails and organizations that give us so many riding and hiking opportunities!! CVC Orange Ride -- Saturday, October 19, 2013 -- 8:30 AM Meet at Citibank Parking Lot (Westlake Village, Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road, north east corner) for announcements at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups. Route: Cornell, Mulholland, Piuma, Seven Minute Hill ad returning through Calabasas. Regroups: Rolling re-group at Mulholland and Cornell. Re-group at King Gillette Ranch for restrooms and water. Re-group at the top Stunt Rd. Re-group at the top of Seven Minute Hill for water. (PLEASE do not inhibit community traffic or block the entry/exit gates) Re-group at McDonald's Agoura Road and las Virgenes Road for restrooms and water. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start. We will try to stick together so everyone has a safe and more enjoyable ride. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the shops and market. 5 pm Rockstore Ride

Hi Fellow CVC Members and Guests, With the sun setting before 6:30 this will be the last Tuesday evening RGold / Orange Rockstore ride until the spring. Hope to see all of you tomorrow 5:00pm. Front and rear lights are highly recommended! We will continue our Tuesday evening gold ride to the Rock Store from Citibank location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:00pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. With the sun setting early lights make it much easier to see and be seen. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS". CVC Vintage/Classic Bike Ride, Sunday, October 20th

Conejo Valley Cyclists Vintage/Classic Bike Ride, October 20th, 2013 Join us for a Classic/Vintage Bike Ride on Sunday, October 20th. CVC has created its own quarterly classic lightweight/road race bike ride through Hidden Valley, Westlake Village, and Lake Sherwood. We have planned a relaxed paced ride through the "Tuscany" of Southern California, playground of the rich and famous, and enjoy, experience approximately 22 miles of scenic beauty. After the ride we will relax at CBTL or the Natural Café with the opportunity to display our bikes in front of these venues. Think of the event as a mini L’Eroica. The ride starts at 9AM from the Citi Bank Parking lot (plenty of free parking) located at the corner of Westlake and Agoura Blvds. in Westlake Village. If you do not have a classic bike but would like to ride with us you are welcome to participate. One must wear a helmet in order to participate and, if you are not a CVC club member, you must sign a release. CVC MTB PM rides week of 10-14-13

Hey CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding in Lang Ranch. Meet at the end of Lang Ranch Pkwy at 6:00 pm. Thursday we're riding Switchbacks/Space Mtn. Meet at the end of Moorpark Rd. at 6:00 pm It is starting to get dark midway through our rides, so at this point you need to have your light. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. Our rides are done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. It will be a beautiful afternoon Wednesday, so come on out and enjoy a mid-week spin. Everyone is welcome to come join this ride at 3:45, ready to go! This week, if everyone is up for it, (and it isn't too hot) let's go for a Rock Store loop per request of Karen J. Regular Rock Store Route, Gold Pace... Let's stick together and have fun!
