*CVC PURPLE RIDE -- Saturday, October 26th, 8:30 AM* Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. *Bill Sietsema will be the ride leader this week.* *Thanks Bill * *Route: King Gellette Ranch Out & Back. 21.3 Miles; 1,973 Feet* *For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2896821** * The *Purple Ride* is an entry level ride no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. *This is a "no drop **ride**" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.* ** *Inclement weather policy*: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ridein these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.

*CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, October 26th, 8:30 AM* Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. We'll go out with the Orange Ride. *Route: 7 Seven Min. Hill via cornell & Mulholland; back through calabasas; lake loop. 35.5 Miles; 3,570 Feet** **For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1033071 * *We will not stop at Juan Bautista Park. We will continue on to King Gillette Ranch and get water there. * *Reminder, there is no water at the top of 7 minute hill anymore. * * *The *Gold Ride* is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30-40+ miles in length and averaging 14+ mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. *This is a "drop **ride**" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). I won't be able to come this week, but will be there for sure the next. It will be a beautiful day, and we had a great ride last week. If you want to go this week, please enjoy without me and know I wish I could be there. Maybe a North Ranch route might be great! Sheri Landing is at the end of Lindero.

CVC MTB PM rides week of 10-21-13

Hi CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding in Chesebro. Meet in the front parking lot at 6:00 pm Thursday we're riding in Dos Vientos. Meet at Wendy and Potrero at 6:00 pm It is starting to get dark 1/3 the way through our rides, so you need to have your light. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. Our rides are done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. Sunday G.O. Ride October 20th.

Hi CVC Members and Guests, Our revised G.O. Ride Social Ride is typically 35 to 45 miles long with 2,200 to 4,200 feet of climbing and an average speed of 13 to 15 mph. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This Sunday it's off to Tapo Canyon via Erbes, Royal and Siquoa. Returning Erringer, Madera and Erbes. 42.5 miles. 4250 feet. Should you decide to deviate the ride course please notify the ride leader to prevent unnecessary or lengthily wait times at regrouping locations. This is a "drop ride" meaning that if you can't keep up with the group, and/or catch up within the re-group times - you are "on your own" to know the route from previous knowledge or by following the route slip. It is possible and/or probable that members can assist others with mechanical & other rider emergencies along the route however. Our re-group spots are meant to allow a short break & a chance for riders to catch up so that the group can ride together as much as is possible. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel the official club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Conejo Valley Cyclists Vintage/Classic Bike Ride, October 20th, 2013 Join us for a Classic/Vintage Bike Ride on Sunday, October 20th. CVC has created its own quarterly classic lightweight/road race bike ride through Hidden Valley, Westlake Village, and Lake Sherwood. We have planned a relaxed paced ride through the "Tuscany" of Southern California, playground of the rich and famous, and enjoy, experience approximately 22 miles of scenic beauty. After the ride we will relax at CBTL or the Natural Café with the opportunity to display our bikes in front of these venues. Think of the event as a mini L’Eroica. The ride starts at 9AM from the Citi Bank Parking lot (plenty of free parking) located at the corner of Westlake and Agoura Blvds. in Westlake Village. If you do not have a classic bike but would like to ride with us you are welcome to participate. One must wear a helmet in order to participate and, if you are not a CVC club member, you must sign a release.
