Come on out and join CVC this Thursday July 19th for a ride through Hidden Valley featuring an out-and-back warm up ramble on Carlisle Road. The Ride starts at 5:30 p.m. ROUTE: Triunfo to LT on Westlake Blvd. From Westlake Blvd., we will take a RT to head out-and-back on Carlisle Rd. Returning via Carlisle, we will take a LT on Westlake Blvd., followed by a LT on E. Potrero Rd. to continue with the standard Hidden Valley ride.DISTANCE: 20-25 milesPACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+ / 15+ mph.NO DROPS: I wait for the slowest rider at strategic points along the route.DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area where we PICNIC after the ride. Park along the curb.PICNIC: If a QUORUM is present, the Post-Ride Picnic will begin around 7:15 p.m. Please bring something to share: cheese crackers, fruit, olives, pretzels, cookies, whatever; a beverage and something to drink it out of if you don't want to drink it out of the bottle; something to sit on and a warm jacket. Bring your friends, neighbors, relatives, significant others, etc.BE PREPARED: A helmet is mandatory. Other things to bring include water or sports drink; I.D. Spare tube(s); CO2 cartridges or hand pump; patch kit; cell phone.SAFETY NOTE: Please do not call out "clear" at intersections. The intersection may not be clear for the rider(s) behind you. Tuesday Morning Ride 8:30

Come join us for our fun Tuesday Morning Ride! We will be leaving at 8:30 from Citibank, Sprouts lot! It will be nice and cool for us to tackle Rock Store! (and I personally have some tackling to do!) The Tuesday morning ride is a gold/orange level pace with average of about 15+ mph. Rides vary from 25-35 miles. Tuesday morning is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe ride. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermidiate/Advanced Mountain Bike ride will ride Wildwood Park. Park at the trailhead at the West end of Avenida De Los Arboles. Be ready to ride at 6pm. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride. Lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. At this point you probably wont need to use a light except in case we get caught out late. CVC Sunday Purple Ride 9:00 Malibu Lake with Mulholland East Extension Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village. Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) This Saturday, the Purple ridewill be doing the: De Anza Park to Mulholland returning on Cornell Hi Purple Riders, This week we will ride our De Anza Park to Mulholland returning on Cornell. Below is a link to the Ride With GPS website that will show you the route. Be sure to print out a route slip if you are unfamiliar with the area. The ride is 22.5 miles with 1344 ft. of climbing. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Saturday and make any necessary repairs. Although the Purple ride is a "no drop" ride, for the enjoyment and safety of the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average. If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple level, please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some pointers and advise. We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the riders! The best stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride around Westlake! When you can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to 14 mph pace, and still feel ready for more, then you will be able to handle many of the standard Purple routes. Leave the clips & spandex at home, bring the T-shirts & Kids, and dust off those Banana seat bikes and shine up the cruisers. Join us as we cruise around the lake and through the local neighborhoods. *FUN RIDE **Route: Around the Lake & the Neighborhoods. A Casual 13.0 miles & an easy 309 feet of elevation. *CVC Classic Bicycle Ride (with Bob Muzio) -- Sunday July 15th 9:00 AM*** Meet at the Citibank Parking Lot in Westlake Village- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Many of us have, collect, and enjoy the “old” bikes and there are not too many opportunities for group rides dedicated to them so CVC has created this quarterly *Classic Bicycle Ride*. We plan on a relaxed pace ride through Hidden Valley, past the estates of the rich and famous, and back to the start, around 20 miles. As always, if you do not have a classic ride but, still want to join us, you are more than welcome to come along. Sunday Social Ride

CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, July - 15th - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average Speed/Pace). 30 to 38 miles maximum and stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. Please remember this is a social paced recovery ride and while that may mean slightly different paces for different people, I attempt to keep the group together as a whole on these rides. The theory is to recover from our Saturday training rides and socialize. With the Classic bike ride this weekend let's piggyback their start through Hidden Valley. We'll continue with the climb up the hill to Treasure Hill Ranch. A quick descent to a right on Reino Drive where can add a Dos Vientos loupe with a left on Lynn Road or a right to Green Meadow Drive and cut though the well hidden Multi Use Path behind the Los Robles Golf Course which runs us out on to Moorpark Road. Down Moorpark Road and up our new favorite hill, Las Padres Drive which connects un into the surgical center on Halland Drive which parallels the 101 FWY to Rancho Road. From there up Rancho Road to La Granada Drive where it connects to Conejo School Road. Down Conejo School Road through a few more lightly traveled residential streets and back. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food establishments. Updating the Flat Century Start Time from 8:30 to 8:00 AM: Date: Saturday, July 14, 2012 Ride Start Location is Leo Carrillo on PCH near Mulholland. Ride Start Time is 8:00 AM. Route is Leo Carrillo to Carpenteria and back. Please note that the Start Time has changed from 8:30 to 8:00 AM. Arrive by 7:45 AM and be ready to depart by 8:00 AM, the ride will depart on time. By making this change we are hopeful to have sufficient parking. This time change only applies to the flat century. Thanks Norm

Hi CVC Red Riders: As Norm previously stated - this Saturday we have many ride options: 1) Two Away Rides : Harlene's Flat Century & 3 Ventura-Ojai-Santa Paula routes 2) Local Westlake Red ride I'm going to be leading one of the Ventura Away rides, so those Red Riders wanting to ride local, I'd suggest a Coast route to minimize riding in the heat. Saturday, July 14th, 8:30am Westlake Village Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot: NE corner of Westlake Blvd. & Agoura/Hampshire Rd.'s Westlake-Hidden Valley-Portero Canyon-Coast Route & return ?
