CVC Sunday Purple Ride -- Sunday Nov 6th - 9:00 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Old Agoura Loop Hi Purple Riders, This Sunday, we have some options - so please see both maps below. Starting out is the Old Agoura Loop. The ride is 15.9 miles with only 957 ft. of climbing. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/712929 Purple PLUS can start the same, but ride 20.3 miles with about 1255' climbing. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/592907 (Note: We will roll out counter-clockwise - this map shows clockwise!) And don't forget an optional extra loop around the lake, either before or after...or both! :-) The purple ride is a beginner club ride with a 12-13 mph average pace but is open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Sunday and make any necessary repairs. Hi All, Cycling opportunities abound! In addition to the usual CVC fare the Solvang Prelude is running this Saturday. The only challenge we face is the rain in the forecast for Friday and a chance on Sunday (*see the inclement weather policy below*). I guess we will have to wait and see how good the weather people are. Also don't forget that Early Sunday morning we return to Standard Daylight Time....Yuck! Below is a re-cap of the rides this weekend and next week. See the ride leaders individual posts on the mail list for more information. Saturday: 8:30am Start at Citibank/Sprouts parking lot at Westlake Bl and Agoura Rd. - Purple: Carlisle out/back with Beth - Gold: North Ranch/Mulholland/Cornell with Norm - Orange: North Ranch/Mulholland/Rockstore/Westlake with Norm - Red: PCH out/back via Mulholland and back up Decker Sunday: 9:00am start at Citibank/Sprouts parking lot at Westlake Bl and Agoura Rd. - Purple: Old Agoura loop with Beth - Social: Norwegian Grade/Read Bypass with Adam Next Week: - Tuesday Night 6PM MTB Ride: See announcement on Sunday - Sheri's Wednesday Afternoon Landing Ride: See Announcement on Monday Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride - Sunday November 6th - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average Speed/Pace). 25-30 miles max. and stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. This week we will go Norwegian Grade style with a Read Road Bypass return! After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. For those of us staying local and NOT riding the Saturday Solvang Prelude Ride ....... Saturday, 6-5th CVC Red Ride: 8:30am Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot (NE Corner Agoura Rd. & Westlake Blvd.) Westlake-Mulholland-PCH-Decker Canyon-Westlake AKA: Decker up and Decker back Ride out of Sprouts Market parking lot Right Turn: Ride East on Townsgate Rd. Right Turn on Lakeview Canyon Rd. Left Turn : Ride East on Agoura Rd. Right on Triunfo Canyon Rd. Left on Westlake/Decker - climb to top at Mulholland Hwy & proceed to: (1st re-group - at water stop/driveway - near last Mulholland "stinger") Across Mulholland Hwy to PCH descent ( 7.5 mi. mostly descending) ( 2nd re-group - Leo Carrillo campground entrance) PCH eastbound ( can cross under PCH by using walkway from Leo Carrillo parking lot) Back up Decker Canyon/Mulholland Hwy ( can add in Upper Encinal Canyon for more mileage/climbing) Descend Decker Canyon/Westlake Blvd. Around the lake - Triunfo/Lindero Canyon Blvd. West on Agoura Rd back to start Jim Doane - CVC Sec/Red Ride Leader

CVC Saturday Purple Ride -- Saturday Nov 5th-8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Greetings, This week's Saturday Purple Ride takes us to Carlisle Canyon, out and back. It is only 13.3 miles but several extension options are available. You can add in some Hidden Valley scenery or add a lake loop a the end depending on what the group wants to do. Please join us for a Humpday afternoon stretch of the leg and spin ride! We will meet at 3:45 at the Landing Parking Lot. Route TBD at start due to every weather available this week. CVC Wednesday Landing Ride Nov. 2nd 3:45pm Route Ideas: Agoura to Las Virgenes Right on Mulholland Malibu Lake Lap and back North Ranch Loop via Erbes to Arboles to Westlake Hidden Valley Carlisle with lake lap? The Landing ride is an intermediate recreational ride 20 to 25 miles in length with an average pace of 14+mph. It is not a "no drop ride" but let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe time. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. CVC Saturday Orange and Gold Level Rides -- Saturday Nov 5th 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Gold ride: North Ranch to Mulholland returning on Cornell, Orange ride will continue on Mulholland to Westlake. Hi Everyone,On Saturday November 5th. starting at 8:30 AM the Orange and Gold rides are riding up Westlake through North Ranch to Kanan then Agura to Las Virgenes stopping at San Juan Beautesta Park for water and restroom and returning on Mulholland to Cornell. The Orange ride will continue on Mulholland through Rock Store to Westlake and back to the start. For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/773809 Orange ride will continue on Mulholland crossing Kanan staying right to stay on Mulholland then turning right on Westlake. Only stop at San Juan Beautesta for restroom and water. Gold ride will return on Cornell from Mulholland and the Orange ride will continue on Mulholland to Westlake. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 8:30AM then splitting into our groups and departing. The Gold Ride is an intermediate recreational ride 30 to 40 miles in length with an average pace of 14+mph. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe ride. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc.. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market.
