Hey All CVC'rs
What happened to 2011! I just looked at the calender and realized we will
be celebrating Thanksgiving in 8 days.
And if you have been around for any amount of time, you know what that
means...
(drum roll please and cue booming voiced announcer)
*The Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Day Ride!*
That's right, here at the CVC you have to earn the right to plow through
all that Thanksgiving culinary bliss. And a nice, social paced, pre-chow
ride is just the ticket.
So, start working on those excuses to family, friends, visitors and loved
ones as to why you will not be around on Thursday morning due to a need to
ride your bike.
Some of my personal favorites are: "But honey, If I ride, I'll be able to
have a second helping of that vile, green, gelatinous desert substance that
your mother always brings to dinner" or the the ever popular " You know
riding puts me in a great mood, and helps me smile through Uncle Bob's
riveting tales of glory as a professional broom ball player".
So mark your calenders for the morning of 11/24 and look for your
CVC Ride Committee's formal announcement with start time and route in a few
days.
See you on the road and trail!

Hey All,
Sorry for the late announcement. This week, due to the wet conditions, we
will be riding Space Mountain. Lets plan on starting from the Moorpark
Rd. trail head at Greenmeadow and going up Space and down. Rosewood (as
usual).
Be ready for a 6:05PM ride start.
Most of our rides are around 10 miles and last a bit under 2 hours.
The Tuesday MTB night ride is a social paced, no drop ride so lets stay
together and have a fun safe time.
Be sure to have a light capable of lighting a dark trail and lasting at
least 2.5 hours and bring a spare tube & pump at a minimum.
After the ride we can go to Cronies Sports Bar on Newbury Rd East of E
Kelly for a little warmth and good cheer.
See you Tuesday night.

CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday November 20th - 9:00am
Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. &
Agoura Road (North East Corner)
Hidden Valley / Green Meadow MUP Route
Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average
Speed/Pace). 30 miles maximum and stay a while to socialize afterwards by
having an after-ride beverage and snack. Please remember this is a social
paced recovery ride and while that may mean slightly different paces for
different people, I attempt to keep the group together as a whole on these
rides. The theory is to recover from our Saturday training rides and
socialize.
Off we will go through Hidden Valley and climb up the hill to Treasure Hill
Ranch. A quick descent to a right on Reino Drive where we then take Lynn
Road to Green Meadow Drive and cut though the well hidden Multi Use Path
behind the Los Robles Golf Course which runs us out on to Moorpark Road.
Down Moorpark Road and up our new favorite hill, Las Padres Drive which
connects un into the surgical center on Halland Drive which parallels the
101 FWY to Rancho Road. From there up Rancho Road to La Granada Drive where
it connects to Conejo School Road. Down Conejo School Road through a few
more lightly traveled residential streets and back.
After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front
grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food
establishments.
** Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is
either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club
policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride
in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official
club ride
