CVC Orange Ride -- Saturday, March 2nd, 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups to depart. Route: To the coast we go, PCH through Potrero Canyon and returning on Mulholland. Regroups: Re-group CSUCI for restrooms and water Re=group Sycamore Cove for restrooms and water. For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/290215 Ride leader/s for this ride will be: Norm W (818) 282-2421 The Orange is an Intermediate to advanced ride, 40+ miles in length. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride, frequent regroups will allow everyone a chance to ride together. Things to have: Helmet !!! - Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop - Tools to perform minor repairs -Chain repair linkage - Inner-tube and pump (or the like) - Cellular phone - Food to replenish energy. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel club rides. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermediate/Advanced Mountain Bike Ride will ride Wildwood. Meet at the trail head at the west end of Arboles. Be ready to ride at 6pm. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. You will need a light and spares. (Or park at Mulholland and Las V and meet group there.) * Fourth Tuesday: Rock Store. * Fifth Tuesday: Rock Store. We try to ride as far as we can, but it's usually about 25 miles due to daylight. Upcoming Events: Conejo Valley Cyclists Classic Bicycle Ride, April 21th, 2013 Join us on Sunday April 21th, 2013 for a ride with your classic lightweight road/race bicycle. Many have, collect, and enjoy the “old” bikes and there are not too many opportunities for group rides dedicated to them so we at CVC have created our own quarterly Classic Bicycle Ride. We plan on a relaxed pace ride through Hidden Valley, past the estates of the rich and famous, and back of 20 miles. After the ride we invite you to bring a stand and display your classic and socialize with other bicycle enthusiasts at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and the Natural Café. Last nights CVC Members Meeting

Hi All, We had a great turnout for a great meeting last night. I want to thank Jennifer Elliot for her time and valuable information about the benefits of yoga for cyclists. She was kind enough to hand out discount passes to Yogaworks where she conducts classes. She also has a Yoga for Cyclists video that can be purchased at a discount by reaching Sheila Sherwyn at: runisbliss(a)aol.com . Henry may still have some Yogaworks discount passes so check with him at the ride start on Saturday. Also Thanks to all that made the meeting possible; Lee Cole for the Cruisin' the Conejo status information, JC Simmons for the community outreach report, Mitch Albo for the race team report and of course Henry Montalvo for putting the whole enchilada together. Subject: Sunday Social Ride Feb 24, 2013 Hi Everybody, This Sunday's Social Ride is thru Moorpark. The ride a little longer than most at 41 miles and will finish around 12:45. Moorpark loop. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1987850 As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. It is mandatory to have and ware a helmet and it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. Things to have: Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop. Tools to perform minor repairs. Chain repair linkage. Inner-tube and inflated device. Cellular phone. Food to replenish energy. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc..
