This week we will head up to North Ranch, then around Agoura and onto The Old Place. Here is a similar route to what we will be doing. There will be a little variance. For example,. we will turn left onto Lindero and go to the end and then through the path to the park for our rest stop. We will then go out to the Old Place, and return to Starbucks with an added lake lap if desired. See you Tuesday, 9:00 am at the Starbucks lot. -- Sheri

Community Cycling

Dear CVC Members, Our member Brett Austin, is serving on the Bicycle Advisory Team (BAT), representing CVC, for the city of Thousand Oaks. He recently attended a meeting and has this for us: The *City of Thousand Oaks* Active Transportation Plan (ATP) Update is now open for public comment. This plan includes several priority projects that are of particular interest to cyclists, and the City is actively seeking community input to help determine which projects move forward. Input provided before *February 25* will be especially helpful to the advisory committees involved in the process. Please consider taking a few minutes to review the plan and share your thoughts. Our collective voice can help shape safer and more connected cycling infrastructure in our community. Special Orange Ride 2 -21

Hi CVC, This Saturday we will be combining the *CVC Orange Ride* with the LA Tri Club for a special ride honoring John McLaughlin, who passed away one year ago. 📍 *Location:* Zuma Beach – farthest parking lot from the entry ⏰ *Arrive:* Around 8:00 AM (to allow time for paid parking and preparation) 🚴 *Clip in:* 8:30 AM About the Ride John McLaughlin was involved in a fatal cycling accident last year on Pacific Coast Highway. He was a dear friend and ride buddy to many LATC members and cyclists from other local groups. Survey and Ride Leader Update

Hi CVC Members, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts in the recent survey. Your feedback is incredibly helpful to the Board. It guides us as we consider changes, shows us what’s working well, and helps us understand where we can continue to support you. In the meantime, please know we always appreciate volunteers — whether that means serving on the Board or stepping up to help lead a ride occasionally. CVC thrives because of member involvement. I also want to remind our current ride leaders to continue submitting rides through the ride leader email. Jerry will continue serving as Ride Director, guiding us and helping keep our ride program cohesive and organized. Due to the significant amount of time Jerry continues to dedicate — and has dedicated over the years — he will be stepping back from *leading* the Thursday rides. This has already been mentioned during Thursday rides. If you are available to lead one (even just one day), please know we would truly appreciate it. There is enough of you out there to take one!! We also continue to need Sunday Social Ride leaders.Thank you Jerry for leading this for so long. What started out as a few friends riding through Covid and enjoying passing the time together, became a huge part of CVC. If you’re willing to lead, please send me your route. Once Terry returns, he will resume sending out the Thursday ride routes. Thank you all for being part of CVC. -- Sheri
