When selecting a ride, please keep the following in mind: Everyone should download the ride route to the GPS device they use to track rides. 1. *No-Drop Rides* There are two no-drop rides each week: *Mellow Yellow on Saturdays* and the *Social Ride on Sundays*. A “no-drop” ride means the group will wait at each designated regroup location until all riders arrive. If you happen to be the last rider, please don’t feel embarrassed or uncomfortable — everyone has been there at some point. These rides are specifically designed to support newer or less experienced riders and keep the group together. If you are the last rider arriving at a regroup location, please continue to the *front* of the group rather than stopping at the back. This allows the ride leader to better assess when you are ready to continue, and you will be the first rider rolling out instead of giving the group a large head start. Once rolling, stay to the right so riders can safely pass when appropriate. 2. *Drop Rides* The Gold, Orange Light, Orange, Red, as well as the Tuesday and Thursday rides, are all considered drop rides. On these rides, after a reasonable wait time at regroup locations — based on the average pace of the group, not the fastest riders — the ride leader should continue even if all riders have not yet arrived. While no one wants to leave riders behind, it is unfair to keep a large group waiting for extended periods when a slower-paced ride may have been more appropriate. One solution is for the main group to continue while the ride leader stays back with the slower rider if needed. 3. *Choosing the Right Ride* If you are unsure which ride is appropriate for your pace or skill level, please choose the easier ride until you are confident you can comfortably maintain the pace of a faster group. 4. *Ride Leaders* If you see someone you are unfamiliar with, please take a moment before the ride leaves the parking lot to introduce yourself and get a sense of their riding experience and comfort level. Hope everyone enjoys their rides Terry
