CVC RIDE PREVIEW August 1-August 6 "Where are we going?"..... Well, contained below are the links to the rides. You can print out a cue sheet or download a file to your bike computer. No computer? Cue sheet too cumbersome? Then make a cheat sheet for the areas you are not familiar with and tape it to your stem or handlebar. Pros do this and it seems to work for them. So, click on a link, view the map, learn it, love it, ride it. -COMING UP- Beach 'n Bikes Ride-Saturday, August 8 One of CVC's favorite away ride! Starting from Sycamore Cove we will ride along the ocean and climb into the canyons, ending with descents back to the ocean breezes rather than a hot asphalt parking lot. Afterwards we can stick around for club supplied sodas and snacks on the beach. This is an intermediate level ride that starts and ends at local watering holes, so you can finish up with some food, refreshments, and socializing with your cycling friends. Please remember when parking at The Landing for any weekend morning rides to park and congregate towards the far end of the lot away from the street and use the middle row. Do not park next to the homes. ** This is considered a "no drop" ride. The ride leader will keep an eye on everyone. No one is left behind. All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. That’s all for now, folks. I need a final headcount for the reservation. DIRECTIONS: Ride start is at the parking lot beside the Twisted Oak. Twisted Oak is located at 30105 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills.PATIO SEATING: Patio seating is reserved for us. Bikes are welcome on the patio. DISTANCE: 22.7 miles. The fast paced Rock Store ride continues on Tuesday July 28th at 5:30 pm PDT sharp. The ride leaves from the Landings parking lot. Mellow single/double pace line until Cornell. Watch for the ever changing construction along Agoura Road. RWGPS route with Mulholland return ( without Upper E) 26 + miles with 1,900' of climbing. Review the route so that you know where we are going and where we will regroup. Regroup points are identified on the the route map; click on each "i" on the map to get regroup location details. AFTER THE RIDE: Join your cycling friends at Galletto @ 7:30 p.m.RSVP: Please do RSVP. Hello CVC'ers, We are excited that out next members meeting will be held at Newbury Park Bicycle Shop. Come and check out their new location and shop. Along with the usual club business, we will have two speakers...please note that time below Kathy Lowry, the Bicycle Coordinator for the city of Thousand Oaks will get us up to speed on what the city is working on...Open Streets on 10/31...Green Bike Lanes And...THIS JUST IN... Ben Cox, Owner of NPBS has asked Mike Miranda of Cannondale to come and speak about new technology coming out for 2016. Also, Ben will give us an update on what is going with the bike shop. As we did last time, we need everyone to bring a folding chair to the meeting. This should be a great presentation and I hope you can attend. Date/⁠Time: Wednesday, July 22nd, 7pm -- the shop closes at 7 but, you can still use the front doors or park in the back and enter through there. Leaving from the Landing, the Tuesday-Thursday ride is a 25 to 40 mile intermediate level ride (between gold and gold rush). There are very few cars out at this time and the weather is nice and cool. Come and join us. No rider gets left behind. The fast paced Rock Store ride continues on Tuesday July 21st at 5:30 pm PDT sharp. The ride leaves from the Landings parking lot. Mellow single/double pace line until Cornell. Watch the construction, krails, and cones along Agoura. Watch for more rocks on the road that usual because of the rain.
