Citibank start location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Dale Smith will be leading the ride. Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. Tuesday Morning CVC ride

Hi Cvc'ers.... We had a great turnout last Tuesday morning! So anyone else who wants to come along... please join us! Actually, I won't be there, and I am not sure when Dennis returns, but I think we have a big enough group that if you show, you can pick a ride amongst yourselves and have a great time! (He may be back by then) Please join eachother at 8:30 on Tuesday morning at Citibank. The Tuesday Morning ride is an intermediate recreational ride (gold to orange level) approximately 25-30 miles in length with an average pace of 14+mph. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe ride. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. CVC ROCKS!

Just a quick thank you to everyone that was there for me today. There is nothing like having a family of support around when you need them. My bike crash could have been much worse! A little time and the road rash and collar bone will heal. I am pleased that the bike is OK. Only a couple of scratches on the shifters. PS- I will back off a little on the descents, it's a tough learning curve. Thanks again, John

All, Please take a look at an email I received from the LVMWD today. The first segment won't affect us that much as most of our routes don't use Reyes Adobe Rd. However, the second segment on Agoura Rd will definitely affect us. I will try to narrow down the schedule for the second segment and find out how the lane closure will be handled. Away Riders - Red Riders : In case some of the Red Riders aren't there at the 9:00am start this SAT here is my plan for re-groups: Ventura- Lake Casitas-Montecito-Ventura RED Ride RE-GROUP summary Approx. 65 miles approx. 4,500’ climbing Start: 9:00am from Mission Park Parking lot Ride up Ventura Bike Trail: 6 miles 225’ climbing 1st RE-GROUP: Entrance to Casitas Campground = 12.5 miles (water & bathrooms) Casitas Climb = 6.1 miles approx. 750+’ climbing ( w/ rollers) 2nd RE-GROUP: Top of Casitas Climb = 18.6 miles Toro Canyon Climb = 1.1 miles 228’climbing 3rd RE-GROUP : Top of Toro Canyon Climb = 33.5 miles Ladera Rd. climb = 1.3 miles 304’ climbing 4th RE_GROUP: Top of Ladera Rd. CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday July 17th - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average Speed/Pace). 25-30 miles max. and stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. With Mulholland nicely paved from Las Virgenes to Westlake now, let's do our Malibou Lake route this weekend, either in the normal or reverse direction. The normal direction takes us down Agoura Rd. to a re-group at De Anza Park. South, down Las Virgenes to Mulholland. Lake Vista Dr. and around Malibou Lake, returning via Cornell. The reverse direction is to ride out to Mulholland Hwy via Cornell and do a loop around Malibou Lake. Then head East down Mulholland Hwy towards Las Virgenes where we will return via Agoura Road. Several optional return routes are available depending on what everyone feels like. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. The presentation is 20-30 minutes and then a questions & answer period. * Joshua Lane taught Nutrition for Broward Community College, is published in magazines including, East West Journal, New Age Journal, Hallandale Digest, Dr. Shelton's Hygienic Review, and InFlight Magazine. In the 1980's Mr.Lane was host of the television show "Viewpoint on Nutrition" one of the first shows to discuss environmental illness. Joshua was host on South Florida Radio with a show called "The Natural Grocer" which had Whole Foods as one of the sponsors. Hi All, For those that will not be attending the CVC away ride in Ventura on Saturday, Harlene Roen will be riding from our regular start at Citibank Westlake at 8:30 am. You may join her on a gold paced ride, approximately 25-30 miles in length. Possible routes will be 7 Minute Hill or Stunt out and back. Participants can decide at the ride start. This is not a CVC sanctioned ride but all club regulations should still be adhered to. Have fun, Kent.

CVC Ventura Away Ride for Saturday 7-16-11 9:00AM Mission Park, Ventura

Hi All, Since The Royals were playing Polo last weekend, We put off our Away Ride one week to this weekend. As you may have read in Jim's post, we are heading up to Ventura for a little cooler weather and a full bag of ride options. For the first time since I've been involved with the club we will take all 4 Ride levels up to Ventura including the Purple Ride lead by Beth. All the routes will ride together for the first few miles and then break up at Casitas Vista Rd. From there, Gold, Orange and Red will continue to Lake Casistas for the first regroup. We will then, for the most part, go our separate ways. *We will start at 9:00am* from at the "Mission Park Parking lot" just off Santa Clara St. See the directions and info below** Here are the routes: Purple: Beth; Ojai out and back. Appx 22 miles and 600' of climbing Gold Lee; Ojai Loop. About 35 miles and 1700' of climbing Orange: Kent; Casitas pass to Carpenteria and back Via the Coast, Around 45 miles and 3000' of climbing Red: Jim; Casitas Pass, Toro, Montecito,Carpenteria,and Back via the Coast. Nearly 65 miles and 5000' of climbing I have attached cue sheets for each of the routes heirin that you can print out at home. Here are the routes in Ride with GPS. Note that the ride options available on this ride can correspond to the standard ride definitions of our different Club's colored rides (Purple, Gold, Orange & Red).
