CVC Sunday Purple Ride -- Sunday Oct 23rd - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Hidden Valley, (out and back) Hi Purple Riders, This Sunday, we will ride out to Hidden Valley (out and back). Below is a link to the Ride With GPS Website that will show you the route. Be sure to print out a route slip if you are unfamiliar with the area. The ride is 20.7 miles with only 880ft. of climbing. I will be leading the ride on my tandem with my daughter in the stoker position. It'll be fun! The Saturday Purple will be one of our regular, mid-range, routes...there are options for those who want more or less...just let me know so I don't think I've lost someone (not that that ever happens...!) :-) We will ride 20.3 miles with about 1255' climbing Basically, up Westlake, over and down Kanan, thru Agoura and back Please see the map http://ridewithgps.com/routes/592907 Optional loop around Westlake at the end of the ride for 5 more smooth miles! The Purple ride is 12-25 miles at 12-13 mph average pace but is open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire and check your bike prior to Saturday and make any necessary repairs. It's already that time... the time to be spinning our legs on our beautiful day....humpday! We made a choice of routes based on traffic and weather at the start of the ride... Let's look at it again on Wed. Maybe Rock store is in order.. but if it is too hot, or if it is not a popular choice.. .hey... we can change! CVC Wednesday Landing Ride (almost to end of Lindero in parking lot) Oct. 19th 3:45pm We will vote at start!!! The Landing ride is an intermediate recreational ride with an avg. of miles in length with an average pace of 14+mph. It is not a "no drop ride" but let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe time. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Tuesday Evening Gold Ride Citibank start location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS". Hey Gang, This week Wildwood Park is up in our rotation. We will meet at the Wildwood Park Parking Lot at the West end of Arboles and Big Sky Dr. Be ready for a 6PM start. The Tuesday MTB night ride is a social paced, no drop ride so lets stay together and have a fun safe time. Hi Red Riders I'm going to ride the Share the Road ride in Simi Valley tomorrow. I had previously announced/suggested a local Red Ride in the Juan Bautista de Anza Park direction then you'd decide on one of the 5-6 return options from there. ( Topanga, Fernwood, etc.) Following Lee's advise about the Calabassas Pumkin Festival perhaps you'd want to ride in the Malibou Lake direction then East on Mulholland Hwy to Las Virgenes- Seven Minute Hill, Fernwood, etc. for your ride to avoid the street fair setting up around Juan Bautista Park . Saturday Gold Ride Update

Hi everyone, Route Update: I rode this route yesterday and found out Juan Bautista Park will be closed for the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. As a result I have revised the route which will have us riding through Cornell and making a left on Mulholland. Revised route and sheet can be obtained at: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/767531 Road conditions: Mulholland is freshly paved from 7 minute hill to Old Topanga. Parts of Agoura is freshly paved. Hazard on Agoura Eastbound after Chesebro Canyon. Steel plated in the road way. Hazard on Agoura Eastbound before Reyes Adobe. Be aware of rocks on Mulholland. Regards Norm

CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, October 16th - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Come out and join us for a social paced ride (14 Mph Avg. Speed). Approximately 30 miles and then stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. Up in the rotation this week is the popular Northern and North Western Thousand Oaks / Lynn Ranch ride. For those that have not ridden this route before we climb North up Westlake to Arboles. A quick hop over to Pederson and around to Big Sky / Wildwood Park. We then cut through the residential area of Thousand Oaks to avoid Lynn Road where we end up in Lynn Ranch. A couple return options exist with a final cut through at what I call Pentagon Park back to Village Glen Plaza. See you there ! After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area.
