Come on out and join CVC on July 11th for the Malibou Lake Ride. Please see the route slip for details. If you are not familiar with the route, please bring a copy of the route slip with you. The ride starts at 5:30 p.m.ROUTE: Malibou Lake + optional Mulholland East extensionDISTANCE: 20-25 miles. PACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+/15+ mph. NO DROPS: A no drop ride means that the leader will sweep behind the group or wait ahead at strategic points/turns along the route, as needed, so nobody gets left behind. Faster riders who are familiar with the course and who prefer to ride ahead are encouraged to do so; they need not wait at regroup points.DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area where we PICNIC after the ride. Park along the curb.PICNIC: If a quorum is present, the Post-Ride Picnic will begin around 7:00 p.m. Please bring something to share: cheese crackers, fruit, olives, pretzels, cookies, whatever; a beverage and something to drink it out of if you don't want to drink it out of the bottle; something to sit on and a warm jacket. July Away Ride : Sat 7-13th

Hi All: This Sat. is the 2nd Sat. of the month and is our club's traditional Away Ride Saturday. As previously announced - this month's Away Ride is: Flat Century: from Leo Carrillo to Carpenteria & back 9:00 am meeting at Leo Carrillo Campground entrance parking lot - park on PCH and ride under the tunnel of PCH to avoid campground parking fee meet at campground entrance parking lot. Jim D and Harlene R. will be the ride leaders I will have a RWGPS map & routeslip made up before the Saturday ride. This is a relatively flat (but longer) Away Ride with minimal climbing so we will plan on stopping several places along the way for snacks, drinks & restrooms similiar to what a charity ride would have as rest stops. I know some of you have ridden this route before with Harlene so I trust you must know of some convenient places to stop - I understand that the Subway sandwich shop in Carpenteria is a good lunch stop before we head back to Leo Carrillo. I would appreciate your RSVP to me ASAP so that I'll know ahead of time who's planning on riding with us. Hit "reply"....NOT... "reply all" to this email to indicate your participation. CVC MTB rides week of 7-8-13

Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, Here are the Int/adv rides for this week. As I have explained before, The CVC rides MTB in tandem with the Conejo Mountain Bikers. I usually will ride one of the days (usually Tuesdays) But there is always a good turnout for both days. Tuesday we're riding the Los Robles trail east to Triunfo, via the Whitehorse trail. Meet at the end of Moorpark Rd. at 6:00 pm Thursday we're riding in Chesebro. Meet in the front parking lot at 6:00 pm Exact routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. See you soon. Kent Kent Koral (818) 802-0826

Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. *This is a "no drop **ride**" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. Hello Fellow CVC members and guests, Up in the rotation this week is the popular Northern and North Western Thousand Oaks / Lynn Ranch ride. For those that have not ridden this route before we climb North up Westlake to Arboles. A quick hop over to Pederson and around to Big Sky / Wildwood Park. We then cut through the residential area of Thousand Oaks to avoid Lynn Road where we end up in Lynn Ranch. A couple return options exist with a final cut through at what I call Pentagon Park back to Village Glen Plaza. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1835712 After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food establishments.
