Announcing Ride of Silence-Wednesday May 18th

Dear CVC, CVC along with the City of Thousand Oaks, and Pedago Bikes will be hosting the local Ride of Silence. Let's bring awareness to the drivers of the Conejo Valley, stressing the importance of motor vehicles being cautious and patient with cyclists. This is a NATION WIDE event. Please come show your support at our local level for cyclists all over the globe, for those you know who have had an accident and remembering and honoring the many hundreds of people we have lost in this world due to cars. Please show up and show your support as it is our mass numbers that will bring attention to the drivers on the road. Tuesday Morning Ride

There will be a group leaving from the Landing at 9 on Tuesday Morning. Feel free to come and join. Sorry, I do not have the route created yet, but... it will be approx. 25ish miles always room to extend if you want. We will meet at the Landing and will go around the lake, up Lakeview to Westlake, to Hillcrest and over to Erbes, up, across Flores to Keats, Arboles, Wildwood Park, (opposite side of street), Olsen.. Pederson, up Westlake, and down, and return...(something like that....) We can talk about extensions tomorrow. See you at 9:00 am for a fun morning spin. -- Sheri

Nosco Ride/ Ride info and volunteer positions

Dear CVC, I would like to share information about the Michael P. Nosco Foundation, Inc. This foundation provides financial assistance to families and/or individuals who are confronting a life-threatening illness. The foundation is funded through a ride that CVC has always supported. The Nosco Ride is a ride that has continued to grow and be part of our community over the years. The ride supports our mission at CVC to promote cycling and community. This is a ride that often has 700+ people showing up to ride. Your support provides inspiration for other riders as well as those in financial need. For those of you who do not know, this ride is a tough 80 mile bicycle ride climbing Deer Creek, Mulholland, and Latigo and finishes at Dos Vientos park. You can make a difference in the lives of others. I encourage you to ride and make the minimum suggested donation of $100. Information, registration and updates are available at MikeNosco.com. For those of you who do not want to commit to the full ride, there are other options which are listed below. I hope many of you can join on November 3rd for the annual Mike Nosco Memorial Bicycle Ride. *If you cannot ride, but can donate some time, we have been asked to put out the word that the organization is looking for 4-6 people to run the Deer Creek aide station on Thursday the 3rd, from 9:00 am- 11:00 am**. *There are other volunteer positions as well, and all you need to do is go to the website, mikenosco.com and hit the volunteer tab. The ride is an optional donation, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. It includes a day full of exhausting riding, support from well-placed aid stations along the route(s), fun with fellow riders and supporters, and other activities throughout the day. Your registration helps the Michael P. Nosco Foundation, Inc. provide adequate planning for the preparation of the ride route, road support, aid stations, meals, drinks, swag (t-shirts, water bottles, etc.) and many of the other amenities provided throughout the day.
