CVC Saturday Purple Level Local Ride -- Saturday, October 13th, 8:30 AM Local Ride: Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Route: Carlisle Canyon and Hidden Valley For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1802654 Regroups: As frequent as possible to maintain the group Fire Station #33 for restroom and water The purple ride is looking for members to take the leadership role. Please let Norm Weir (normweir(a)sbcglobal.net) know it you are willing to lead the Purple Ride your assistance is appreciated. The Purple Ride is an entry level ride no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "no drop ride" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. Things to have: Helmet !!! - Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop - Tools to perform minor repairs -Chain repair linkage - Inner-tube and pump (or the like) - Cellular phone - Food to replenish energy. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. Local Route: Mulholland, Rockstore: Gold can return on Mulholland. Orange can extend the ride to Upper Encinal and return on Decker. Red can extend to Little Sycamore and return on Decker or add additional miles. Tuesday Evening Beg/Int MTB ride, Cheeseboro, 6:00pm start

CVC Tuesday evening Beginner/Intermediate MTB ride. *This ride is a mix of fire roads and technical single track ridden at a slower pace than the advanced ride.* Meet in the parking lot found at the Main Park Entrance. Start time is 6:00pm. Route to be determined. The goal is to ride from 1.5 - 2 hrs and travel about 8 - 12 miles. You don't have to have a mountain bike if you're new to the sport. A bike with wide tires and a little front suspension will do to get started. *Lights are now required. We recommend lights with at least 750 lumens. Two lights are ideal - one for your handlebar and one for your helmet. You're able to see surprisingly well with this set up. CVC encourages you to support our cycling community by shopping at local bike stores.* Afterwards we can go for some food and refreshments. Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermediate/Advanced Mountain Bike Ride will be at Sycamore Canyon. Meet at trail-head on Portrero Rd at Wendy. Be ready to ride at 6pm. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. You will need a light and spares. CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, October - 7th - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Reyes Adobe / Lindero MUP Come out and join us for a local social paced ride (14 Mph Avg. Speed). Approximately 25-30 miles and then stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. The plan for this Sunday is to head North on Reyes Adobe, cut through the school which puts us on Lindero Cyn., where we will find our way to the Multi Use Path that meanders through Oak Canyon Park. >From there we can take the not too traveled residential side streets to work our way South which puts us at Chumash Park all without having to ride on Kanan. Once there we can choose the return route and/or extension (I.e. Agoura with a Carlisle Canyon loop, Thousand Oaks Blvd to Forrest Cove Park pass though or a Malibou Lake loop). This route uses lightly traveled roads that avoid the traffic of the major streets. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food establishments. See you there!!
