CVC Orange Ride -- Saturday, January 25, 2014 -- 8:30 AM Meet at Citibank parking lot in Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) at 8:30 AM for announcements, and then split into our groups to depart. Route: Balcom/Moorpark Something new and something old. Head out to Balcom while its still winter. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. Frequent re-groups will allow everyone a chance to ride together. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel club rides. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions. However, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, January 25, 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Route: Out Potrero through Hidden Valley to U.C. Channel Islands, up Santa Rosa Rd., Reed bypass to Pederson, return Erbes. Ride Specs: 44 miles, 2700 feet climbing Water & restrooms: MacDonalds on Santa Rosa Rd. The Gold Ride is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30+ miles in length and averaging 12-14 mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. Hey CVC'ers, It is with great excitement and pleasure that I announce Cameron (Cam) Young as the new Ride Director of the club. As many of you know, Cam does an excellent job as the Gold Ride Captain. I know the energy, patience, and focus on ride safety he brings to the Gold Ride will serve him well as Ride Director. Please join me in thanking Cam for volunteering to do this extremely important job for the club. Sunday December 1st G.O. ride

Hi CVC Members and Guests, Our revised G.O. Ride Social Ride is typically 35 to 45 miles long with 2,200 to 4,200 feet of climbing and an average speed of 13 to 15 mph. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This Sunday it's off to Tapo Canyon via Erbes, Royal and Siquoa. Returning Erringer, Madera and Erbes. 42.5 miles. 4250 feet. For a detailed route slip go to:http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2181943 At the ride start we will announce the regroup locations. Should you decide to deviate the ride course please notify the ride leader to prevent unnecessary or lengthily wait times at regrouping locations. This is a "drop ride" meaning that if you can't keep up with the group, and/or catch up within the re-group times - you are "on your own" to know the route from previous knowledge or by following the route slip. It is possible and/or probable that members can assist others with mechanical & other rider emergencies along the route however. Our re-group spots are meant to allow a short break & a chance for riders to catch up so that the group can ride together as much as is possible. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel the official club ride.
