CVC Orange Ride -- Saturday, September 7th, 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups to depart. Route: De Anza, Mulholland, Encinal, PCH with a Mulholland return. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride, frequent regroups will allow everyone a chance to ride together. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel club rides. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. *Conejo Valley Cyclists 4th Annual Summer BBQ * *When: Sunday, Sept 15th from 1pm until 5pm.* *Where: At our new **picnic** location at the Conejo Creek North Park at the Creekside Pavillion. **1379 W Janss Road. * *Thousand Oaks, CA 9136* *The club will buy meats to BBQ (Burgers, Chicken, Hot Dogs, etc) and supply drinks. Members, Please bring your favorite side dishes to share (see below for side dish additional information)* ***If you have not already done so, Please RSVP if you are planning on attending and how many in your party. Also let me* *know what side dish you are **bringing.* *** We will need 2-3 volunteers to take care of the BBQing duties. Please contact me to help with this important task!* * * *Please note this is an exclusive invite to currently active CVC members and family only. CVC PM MTB rides this week 9-3-13

Hey CVC Mountainbikers, The rides for this week are as follows. Tuesday we're riding Switchbacks/Space Mtn. Meet at the end of Moorpark Rd. at 6:00 pm Thursday we're riding in Dos Vientos. Meet at Wendy and Potrero at 6:00 pm We have been finishing close to, and in some cases after dark so at this point you should probably have your light with you. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is a ride done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. Hidden Valley Ride, Thursday Sept. 5 @ 5:15 p.m.

High heat forecasted for Thursday, so we will repeat Hidden Valley this week. ROUTE: Out-and-Back through Hidden Valley (those who want to ride a few extra miles can add the Carlisle extension). START TIME: 5:15 p.m. DISTANCE: 20-25 miles PACE: This is an intermediate level ride that includes both Gold and Orange paces averaging 14+/15+ mph. NO DROPS:A no drop ride means that the leader will wait ahead at strategic points/turns along the route, or sweep behind the group as needed, so nobody gets left behind. Faster riders who are familiar with the course and who prefer to ride ahead are encouraged to do so; they need not wait at regroup points. DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START: Triunfo Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village, just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building. From the 101 Freeway, take Lindero Canyon south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards. You will see a grassy area. Park along the curb. Hi Gold Riders, We will start this Tuesday evening gold ride to the Rock Store from Citibank location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store. With the sun setting early lights make it much easier to see and be seen. Here's the route using "Ride with GPS". Kent will be leading a Labor Day ride from Citibank at 8:30 through Hidden Valley and Dos Vientos, returning through Multiuse Path on GreenMeadow. Sunday September 1st. G.O. Ride

Hi CVC Members and Guests, Our revised G.O. Ride formerly called the Sunday Social Ride is typically 35 to 45 miles long with 2,200 to 4,200 feet of climbing and an average speed of 13 to 15 mph. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This Sunday it's off to Tapo Canyon via Erbes, Royal and Siquoa. Returning Erringer, Madera and Erbes. 42.5 miles. 4250 feet. For a detailed route slip go to:http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2181943 At the ride start we will announce the regroup locations. Should you decide to deviate the ride course please notify the ride leader to prevent unnecessary or lengthily wait times at regrouping locations. This is a "drop ride" meaning that if you can't keep up with the group, and/or catch up within the re-group times - you are "on your own" to know the route from previous knowledge or by following the route slip. It is possible and/or probable that members can assist others with mechanical & other rider emergencies along the route however. Our re-group spots are meant to allow a short break & a chance for riders to catch up so that the group can ride together as much as is possible.
