Saturday, 2-1-14 CVC RED Ride : 8:30am: Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot - Westlake Village ( NE Corner: Westlake Blvd. & Agoura/Hampshire Rd.s) Let's ride a regular length Red Ride this week RIDE ROUTE: Malibou Lake-King Gillette Ranch-Mulholland Hwy-Cold Canyon Piuma-Schruenen-Stunt-Mulholland-Malibou Lake-Cornell-Agoura-Westlake Lake loop 43.8 miles 5,715' climbing ( as calculated by RWGPS which is always a little higher than actual) For a detailed map & route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3977009 Re-Group spots: 1) King Gillette Ranch ( water & rest rooms) 2) Top of Piuma Climb ( water) 3) Stunt Overlook ( water on concrete driveway on Stunt descent) 4) Bottom of Stunt descent at Mulholland Hwy 5) At Malibou Lake/Cornell turn Inclement weather policy : If it is actively raining or threatening rain and the roads are wet, the official announced club ride is cancelled. CVC PURPLE RIDE - Saturday February 8th, 8:30 a.m. Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Ride leader/s for this ride will be: Bill Sietsema Route: Rancho Conejo Open Space; 25.5 miles; 1707 feet For a detailed map and route slip, go to: <http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2809777> http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2809777 The Purple Ride is an entry level ride - no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "no drop ride" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. Ride note: If you leave the ride for any reason, please pass along the information to the ride leader so that we don't wait at the next re-grouping. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Route: Potrero/Somis/Moorpark By specific request, how about something flat and fast thru the farm lands of Somis. Re-Group spots: 1) CSCI (water, Bathrooms) 2) Mcdonalds on Spring St. ( water, restrooms) Small regroups along the way to gather the crew up to be determined. Ride leader/s for this ride will be: Jerry Scott 805 404 8525 The Orange is an Intermediate to advanced ride, 40+ miles in length. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. Frequent re-groups will allow everyone a chance to ride together. Let's meet again at The Landing. We will ride through Hidden Valley, up to Treasure Hill, go back down for the first quick right on Hidden Valley Rd. where we will regroup at the end. For those wanting to go easier, dump the Treasure Hill and make the left on Hidden Valley. We will still regroup at the end by the farms. 15+ avg. See you there at 3:30. CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, February 8, 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Route: We're going to Tapo Canyon (Lost Canyons) out Erbes with a Long Canyon and Erbes return. Ride Specs: 42.5 Miles, 3900 feet Water & restrooms: Citrus Grove Park at about 24 miles. If anyone knows of other spots, please let me know. The Gold Ride is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30+ miles in length and averaging 12-14 mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. CVC PM MTB rides for the week of 2-3-14

Hi CVCrs, We got a we bit of moisture on the trails this weekend which is good, and we may possibly see more on Thursday. The Schedule this week is as follows: Tuesday we're riding in Sycamore Cyn. Meet at Wendy and Potrero at 6:00 pm. I wont make this ride, but Ben and the crew will be out there. Thursday we'll ride Switchbacks/Space Mtn. depending on the rain showing up or not. Meet at the end of Moorpark Rd. at 6 pm Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. Our rides are done jointly with the Conejo Mountain Bike club (CMB). It is an intermediate paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time.
