Hey CVCrs It's going to be a beautiful Weekend....let's get out and ride! Below is a re-cap of the rides this weekend and next week. See the ride leaders individual posts for more information. Saturday: 8:30am Start Purple: Beth is riding to DeAnza park and Back Gold: Lee is riding The Piuma Short route Orange: I am riding to top of Stunt and Back Red: Jim is riding Piuma to Fernwood to Old Topanga Sunday: 9:00am start (we will NOT be moving the start to 8:30) Both Purple and Social will be riding the Hidden Valley-Lynn Rd-Green Meadow MUP routes at their respective paces. CVC Saturday Gold Ride, July 30, 8:30am start

*CVC Saturday Gold Ride, July 30, 8:30am Meeting at the Citybank Parking Lot, Westlake Village, (corner of Westlake Blvd & Agoura Rd) *Route: Piuma (Short Edition) 27 miles, with 2,200' climbing Hey Gold Riders, Lets head out to Piuma. I know, I can here it now... Piuma! You've got to be kidding! I am not. It is just a short stretch of Piuma to Cold Creek to Mulholland. Really nice and well within Gold ride standards. Fear not! Another something different ride. Basic Route: Leave Citibank towards Agoura. Right on Cornell, left on Mulhlland, right on Las Virgenes, rest stop at Tapia park just before Piuma. Left on Piuma, left on Cold Creek, left on Mulholland, right on Las Virgenes to Juan Bautista Park and back to the finish. The Gold Ride is an intermediate recreational ride, 30 to 40 miles in length with an average pace of 14 mph. It is not a "no drop" ride but as always let's try to stick together as much as possible. If you are new to CVC or just trying us out please let me know before we start. Remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we do not respect the requests of the lease tenants we could be asked to park elsewhere. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as the Natural Cafe', Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc,. /Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. CVC Sunday Purple Ride -- Sunday July 31st- 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Hidden Valley, clockwise direction Hi Purple Riders, This week we will ride our Hidden Valley loop in the clockwise direction. Below is a link to the Ride With GPS website that will show you the route. Be sure to print out a route slip if you are unfamiliar with the area. The ride is 22.5 miles with 1503 ft. of climbing. CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday July 31st - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Hidden Valley / Green Meadow MUP Route Come out and join us for a social paced recovery ride (14 Mph Average Speed/Pace). 30 miles maximum and stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. Please remember this is a social paced recovery ride and while that may mean slightly different paces for different people, I attempt to keep the group together as a whole on these rides. The theory is to recover from our Saturday training rides and socialize. Off we will go through Hidden Valley and climb up the hill to Treasure Hill Ranch. A quick descent to a right on Reino Drive where we then take Lynn Road to Green Meadow Drive and cut though the well hidden Multi Use Path behind the Los Robles Golf Course which runs us out on to Moorpark Road. Down Moorpark Road and up our new favorite hill, Las Padres Drive which connects un into the surgical center on Halland Drive which parallels the 101 FWY to Rancho Road. From there up Rancho Road to La Granada Drive where it connects to Conejo School Road. Down Conejo School Road through a few more lightly traveled residential streets and back. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. CVC Orange Ride Saturday 7-30-11 8:30AM Westlake Citibank/Sprouts Lot

Hi All, This week the Orange Show will ride Stunt Road. The route follows Agoura Rd to Lost Hills Rd and regrouping at Juan Batista Park. Then Las Virgenes, Mulhlland, Stunt to the top and back down, and home Via Mulholland ,Cornell and Agoura Rds If you want to see the complete route in detail and print out a route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/207956 As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 8:30AM prior to splitting into our groups and departing. The Orange ride is an intermediate/advanced recreational ride 40 to 50 miles in length with an average pace of 15+mph. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun,safe ride. Hi CVC Red Riders : I propose for this week's Red Ride we ride in the Reverse direction of last week's Red Ride for a change of pace. This ride should get us back in plenty of time to get ready for Bicycle John's "Customer Appreciation Day" which is a Social paced ride & BBQ event starting in their Agoura Hills location later in the PM (see Adam's previous email announcement) Reminder: Wear your CVC colors to this event so we can visibly show our Club support CVC Red Ride Saturday, 7-30-11 8:30am Citibank Parking lot = NE corner Agoura Rd & Westlake Blvd. Westlake Village- Piuma Rd.- across Saddle Peak-down Fernwood-Up Old Topanga Canyon then Calabassas return to Westlake This ride affords us to the opportunity to climb Piuma & ride in the reverse direction of our usual Fernwood climb and then we'll return via' Old Topanga Canyon and Calabassas-Mureau Rd.-Agoura-Westlake 8:30am start: Westlake Village First re-group: Juan Bautista de Anza Park Second re-group: top of Piuma - ocean overlook FYI: Piuma is 2X Rock Store in distance & climbing feet - see if you can ride it in less than 30 min's Third re-group: top of Stunt Rd. - then proceed up Saddle Peak riding to the East, across Tuna Canyon down Fernwood Pacific- back up Old Topanga Canyon See you in Westlake at 8:30am Jim Doane- CVC Sec/Red Ride Leader

Thursday bike ride/picnic - Hidden Valley loop

We had a GREAT ride last Thursday and even better picnic! Tomorrow should be great weather-wise and it's the easiest ride in and out of Hidden Valley. Thursday, July 28th, 5:30 p.m. (Around-the-lakers can start at any time - picnic @ ~7:00) Westlake Village Start (directions below) Route: Hidden Valley - Triunfo to Westlake to Potrero, Lake Sherwood Drive, Potrero, Hidden Valley Road and same way back, and around Westlake lake on return...approximately 20 miles. For CVC'rs, longer ride is between a "gold" and "orange" level. No drops. I wait for the slowest rider. RIDE START: Triunfo Road just west of the Dam (tennis) Club and little yacht club building in Westlake Village. (From the 101 Fwy, take Lindero Cyn. south until it ends at Triunfo. Go right on Triunfo a couple hundred yards...where there's grass, sidewalk, the lake...and park along the curb.) TIME: Those wishing to get in ~20 miles, 5:30, ready to ride. Those just going around the lake can show up at any time. PICNIC: After riding - picnic starts around 7:00 p.m. (where the cars are parked). WHAT TO BRING: HELMET AND BIKE! For picnic, bring something to share (cheese, crackers, fruit, olives, pretzels, cookies, whatever...), a beverage (and something to drink it in if you don't want to drink out of the bottle), something to SIT on and a warm jacket. Also bring any friends, neighbors, relatives, S.O.'s and anyone else who might like to join us (preferably with bikes). Don't forget spare tubes, water bottles, etc. ROUTES: Longer ride: Routes will include Hidden Valley, Lake Malibou, North Ranch, and wherever. Around the lake: cruise around the lake in wide bike lanes...no left turns...~5 miles each loop...all flat, no discernible hills. If you wish to be removed from this e-mail list (unless you're getting the notice from CVC), please let me know. Also, feel free to pass the information on to friends, family and S.O's. CVC Sunday "Neptunes Net" Ride -- Sunday July 31st-8:30 AM Meeting at "Neptunes Net" on PCH at the county line (North of Mulholland Hwy) Greetings, The Neptunes Net Flat Century is this Sunday! Lenoard Polan has offered to lead the group and it looks like there will be several CVC riders participating. There should be several levels of riders so please help Len out with the ride. Citibank start location to Malibou Lake - Rock Store - Mulholland Hwy - Decker Canyon - around Westlake Lake. 25 + miles with 2,100' of climbing. Starting at 5:15pm Same route as the Tuesday Red Ride (without upper Encinal Canyon). Dale Smith will be leading the ride. Re-group at: Cornell / Mulholland and top of Rock Store.
