Dear CVC and Friends,
I would personally like to thank each and every one of you who participated
in the very successful fundraiser and picnic! Without your generosity and
support, we would be just another bunch of riders, but we are CVC and we
are doing what CVC does best, helping others in our community! So thank you
all who came out and/or supported our ride and our cause.
I would like to extend a special thanks to our sponsors, Trek Westlake, The
Hub, (see their new location in Westlake), Michael's Bicycles in Newbury
Park, Newbury Park Bicycles, Cheesecake Factory, West Wines Thousand Oaks,
Velofix, (who does bike maintenance right in your home), Agile Sportswear
who donated two club kits, Paul Mitchell, and Big Sexy Hair.
As part of my heartfelt thanks, I would like to acknowledge these special
club members: Kent Koral, Terry Hearst, Dawn Foley, and Kim Kitchen. This
team has worked endless hours to make sure the day would be a successful
day. Between marketing, gathering sponsors, setting up the day, attention
to details to make this a safe ride, setting up the picnic area and rest
stops, and so much more....
And speaking of, I would also like to thank Kay Fields at
kayfields(a)realtor.com for the amazing job she did putting all of these
silent auction items together to look so good. I know many of you commented
on how nice the baskets were. I would also like to extend my thanks to
those working the rest stops, (Terry's family, and Desiree, and her sister)
and to Bob Muzio and John Goodman for driving a SAG vehicle and watching
out for us.
And again, thank you all who supported the ride, the club and those that
made extra donations. You are all so very appreciated.
We had over 100 participants and after the 5 year break, we are so proud to
have this benefit ride back!
The team will be meeting to go over ideas for next year and if you have any
suggestions, we are open to hearing them.
