We have great information about care and maintenance of tubeless tires, AND radar for your bike. In addition, Trek is hosting a raffle of a few select items. WOW! Additionally, rumor has it that Trek will offer a discount on bike radar at the event. This is not a rumor, it's a fact !! Hi All, With all the "to do" about the weekend rides, and the Picnic & Benefit Ride, please don't forget about the membership meeting at Trek Westlake on THIS COMING Monday, June 9th. We will need you to bring a folding chair with you....unless you choose to stand during the meeting. Remember the pro rider credo, don't stand if you can sit, don't sit if you can lay down. In sudden situations, like a car pulling out of a driveway or a cyclist needing to swerve around a pothole, being instantly visible can mean the difference between a near miss and a serious accident. The best colors for visibility are neon/ fluorescent colors such as neon yellow, fluorescent orange, bright green and fluorescent pink. Aside from fluorescent colors white, hot pink, bright red and lime green are good in low-light and evening riding. Avoid wearing black, dark blue, gray, dark green, and earth tones as these colors blend into the road, trees etc. Reflective materials are essential for nighttime rides. Adding a reflective ankle band (movement attracts attention) is a very inexpensive, quick way to increase visibility. When riding with us, you will: * Use helmets and bike lanes! Call out hazards and ride predictably. * Avoid bunching up; don't overlap wheels. * Keep a prudent distance and ride single file on narrow roads. * Ensure your bike is in good working order. * Descend carefully! * Pass slower riders on the left and signal when changing lines. * Respect traffic laws and the rights of motor vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. * If the weather is inclement, we will cancel ALL rides. CVC Thursday MTB

CVC MTB’rs, This Thursday we are going to head out to Malibu Creek State Park, the MASH site and beyond. If the group is into it, we may do the lower, mini section of Bulldog(NOT the full climb) into Malibou Lake. We will decide at the start depending on group prefer preference. I’m happy either way.
