There will be some changes we will go over and we want everyone who is interested to hear. We are really in need of ride leaders of all levels all the time, and truly would appreciate leadership at the gold level where Denise has been stepping in for the last few years! The ride leaders meeting is at 6:00. PLEASE RSVP Wesley Thomas is the company Kent works for and is in the industrial complex in Newbury Park. Don't forget about the Picnic & Benefit Ride! This is YOUR club ride. This is where we get our funds to donate to others in need and have a blast doing so. We have a great lunch planned with many choices of routes. We will have help from our sponsors along with great silent auction items. Take a look at the website to see past donations! This year we hope to cover bikes for young fire victims who are in need! The more we have, the more we can donate. Even in a wealthy community, there are individuals who face unique challenges. As we share our compassion, we see that there are many lower level income earners, and people that lived in lost apartments, employees of others, house managers, and so many more. The kids of these people are vetted to be sure they are in need. Most of these kids went to Pali High and lost their homes, and their school and the area is doing fundraisers to build a temporary school so the kids are no longer on line from their temporary homes. A bike is the last thing on the family's list, but our mission in CVC is to promote cycling to others. What a perfect time to share. Following California State Legislature adoption of SB 1297, the City of Malibu is excited to announce the Malibu Speed Safety Program. As a result of this horrific incident, Senate Bill (SB) 1297 was created and signed by the Governor on September 27, 2024. SB 1297 authorizes the installation of five speed camera systems along the 21-mile stretch of PCH within Malibu. Speed cameras detect speeding vehicles using radar or laser technology to measure speed. When a vehicle is detected exceeding the speed limit, the camera takes a picture or video of the vehicle, capturing its license plate, date, time, and location. This information is then checked to confirm the violation, and local authorities decide whether to give a warning or a speeding ticket to the vehicle's registered owner. The legislation requires the City to adopt a Speed Safety System Use Policy and approve an Impact Report before purchasing or leasing equipment and implementing a speed safety system. tuesday special morning

Tuesday Riders, We will be starting off with a little twist on Tuesday morning. At the ride start, there will be a team of people from Acorn Bar, a protein, gluten free, vegan bar. They have a professional photographer coming and will be "using" us as "models" and tasters for this bar. See the info below: Acorn Bar (www.acornbar.com and @acornbar, #acornbar) As mentioned, we'll be taking lifestyle photos for this season to show how cyclists enjoy the bars (check out their IG and/or FB pages to see what types of images we've done in the past) to help them get the energy they need before or after a ride. Please let your riders know that for photography sake, it's best to not wear any gear with large logos - solids and subtle patterns work best. We're lucky to have Mendy Walsh as our photographer (photographybymendy.com) who makes everyone look amazing! We will arrive around 8:15 to ensure we don't miss anyone before they take off on their route, and will want to get a mix of shots of individual riders, group shots, and casual active shots; if you think of ways to maximize our time and get the shots we need please let me know. I've attached a photo release form for your review; we request that each person sign the form, but respect someone who may be hesitant to be a part of the experience and/or sign a form. I'll be sure to bring copies of the form to the event. We're looking forward to having fun and capturing some amazing moments of everyone enjoying the outdoors with an Acorn Bar. We can't thank you enough for agreeing to be a part of this day! Let's go ride 7 min. Hill out and back. Ride will leave at 9, but come early for the hoopla!!!!! -- Sheri
