This week's CVC Ride Schedule REMINDER! Fall / Wintertime starts begin this week. Saturday @ 8:30 am from The Landing. Sunday @ 9:00am from Starbucks. Sunday, October 3rd-ALL future SUNDAY club rides will depart from Starbucks at 9:00 2755 Agoura Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91361Please park towards the rear of parking lot ( nearest Agoura Road ) to not disrupt local businesses. We are going to try this location for socializing after the ride. Come on in and have a cup of coffee, or Jamba Juice.Join your fellow riders and friends when you are done with your rides. CVC Thursday MTB-9/30 5:30 PM

Hey Thursday Bi-Weekly MTB’rs, This Thursday we have a club favorite on tap. We are going to ride the CVC Dos Vientos loop. To top it off, the weather should be perfect with temps during ride time in the mid 70s. The route starts at Wendy and Potrero at 5:30 PM and winds along Potrero Road, around and through Dos Vientos. It’s a great route… not too technical and really fun. We are now in the shoulder season of the year where we start out in the daylight, but end it in the dark… which means you will need your lights. A good MTB light and a simple tail light will do the trick. So, don’t miss the beginning of night ride to season! We always have a blast and celebrate the fun we had at the finish!! Sunday, Sept. 26th- Ride leaves from Landing at 8:30. Please join club for coffee and treats brought to you by The Hub. The Hub is at : 2900 Townsgate Rd #109, Westlake Village, CA 91361 Next Weekend, October 2nd. Saturday: Fall Ride Schedule is back into effect. All *Rides will leave at 8:30 *from The Landing from now until the end of June 2022. Hey All you CVC'rs, CVC, you are an amazing group of people AND riders. The main reasons people give for engaging in road cycling are for fun, exercise, and socializing. For those even more passionate about cycling, serving as a volunteer leader offers opportunities to get more involved in ride leadership, route planning, safety education, cycling advocacy and event planning. These activities enrich the riding experience! The core volunteer leadership team is uniquely engaged in sharing the joy of road biking with fellow riders- some who have been ringing for years, and others who are just discovering this incredible activity. Our ride leaders, rides, and events create a remarkable sense of community and encouragement to others in a whole different way. As I said, you do not need to be the strongest and fastest rider to be a ride leader. Your role is to ensure everyone feels welcome before, during, and after the ride. A positive attitude, a good route and an eye for safety is what you need. Come find out what it is all about! Share your ideas, share your leadership and share in some collaboration with others. We would love to have you come join the ride leaders meeting even if it is just a thought right now. Please let me know if you can come to the meeting on Thursday at 5:30 (plan is to keep it to an hour). Find out what the leaders do, what is expected, what guidelines we have and find out how you can help your club out. Share in the love for sure! -- Sheri

Hi CVC, Just want to remind everyone that we have a Ride Leader's, Ride Captain's, Meeting this coming Thursday, September 23rd at 5:30. This will be held outside in our backyard. This is for anyone interested in helping out with rides and those of you who are already leading. I want to remind you all, CVC is run 100% by volunteers. You do not need to be the strongest and fastest rider to be a ride leader. The ride leader's role is to ensure everyone feels welcome before, during, and after the ride. All you need is a positive attitude, a route, and an eye for safety. Please know you are needed and appreciated. It is your time to give back. I will need your RSVP. CVC Thursday biweekly MTB ride news

Hi CVC MTB'rs, As we transition into fall, we are seeing the sun setting much earlier. With this being said, we are needing lights on our MTB rides (both head and tail). For now, we probably won’t be turning them on except at the very end if at all (or if we get caught out due to a mechanical, etc), but in a few weeks that will change. So make sure you have your lights up to snuff, or replace the ones that are not. If you have any questions about lighting, feel free to reach out to me. This Thursday we are going to ride Las Virgenes Canyon and Lasky Mesa. We park at the north end of Las Virgenes Rd. by the apartments and ride at 5:30 PM sharp. This is a really great route and is very suitable for gravel bikes. Come on out and have fun. Should be a stellar evening out in the dirt!! Looking forward to seeing you all!
