Nosco Memorial Ride

CVC, This has been a tough year for so many. As usual, CVC will continue to support the Mike Nosco Memorial RIde. The Michael P. Nosco Foundation supports Southern California communities whose mission is to provide financial relief to families and/or individuals who are confronting a life threatening illness. The foundation's mission is realized by organizing an annual cycling event, the Michael Nosco Memorial Bicycle Ride, to generate revenue. CVC will have rides the week prior to this event that mimic the regular Nosco ride, and though we will not have the same experience riding with hundreds, we can all still make a donation, purchase the clothing, and support this foundation and the cause. Here is some information: We are excited to be partnering with Zwift this year. In order to comply with current Health & Safety guidelines, we will be having a Zwift virtual ride on November 3rd between 5:00pm & 6:10pm. This will be a departure from previous years, but we are sure you will still have an amazing experience on this new platform! You can join the ride for free as Zwift will have for this ride, a free registration to their site, just for the Nosco ride. More information to come. We will also encourage you all to get outside and ride the 80 mile or 48 mile Liv routes for the entire week leading up to November 3rd. We will have a place to post your ride and have a leaderboard, where we can see how everyone did this week. Your donations will go to this year’s recipients (TBA). So, this *Peloton with a Purpose* has been redirected, but not canceled or postponed, we have adapted and will overcome, all the while still remembering why we ride! CVC, I am so happy to be able to write this letter to you. As you are aware, our Picnic & Benefit Ride was cancelled a couple of times due to COVID and we came to the realization that it just won't be happening this year. There were a number of our members who signed up early. They were asked if they wanted a refund, or if they would like to donate the money to one of 4 recipients, (local charities in our community). The CVC Board of Directors agreed that there would be a match of their donations which we were grateful to be able to do. Suffice to say, most all of the members contacted donated and 100% of the proceeds were matched and rounded up, and given IN FULL to the charities. Our rides normally incur expenses and since we had no ride, we had no expenses, and we were able to donate 100% of the money paid by our members. Thank you all who contributed to the following charities: COSF-Conejo Open Space MANNA Ride on Therapeutic Horsemanship Nosco Foundation I have received 3 Thank yous so far and they are attached to this emai and the purpose of the charities is also explained.
