CVC Tuesday Evening 5:30 PM Rock Store Ride

The Tuesday evening 5:30 pm Rock Store ride resumes on Tuesday March 14th at 5:30 pm PDT sharp. The ride leaves from the Landings parking lot. For those un-familiar with this ride, it does the Rock Store loop with or without Upper Encinal. Moderate pace along Agoura and fast after the turn onto Cornell. Re-group at the Encinal Y for a few minutes. Sunset is about 7 pm so we have about 40 minutes from the Encinal Y to sunset. - Jonathan

CVC Tuesday MTB-On Hiatus

All, As the time changes, so do the rides. The Tuesday Night Novice MTB is going to go on Hiatus due to a lack of participation and also due to the startup of the Tuesday Rockstore ride. I will be riding MTB with the CMB Group on Thursdays, following Ben's lead, and if there is interest, will split off a Novice ride to suite the attendees, But you will need to RSVP me and let me know as I will not be there every week. So many fantastic items were donated - and, it was our biggest money maker!! It's time to get going to make this happen again! March 13th Club Meeting : 7:00 pm This is not just a gym! Do you know what a cryogenic chamber is and how it is used for recovery? We will have a couple AWAY ride groups doing the Solvang Century and 70 mile routes, as well as a couple LOCAL rides. And regular local rides on Sunday. On Saturday, we have four rides. The local Orange ride is dropping down to Camarillo through Hidden Valley and back up Santa Rosa Valley. On Sunday, we've got three rides. The Red Ride is headed to the beach over Potrero and will return back up Mulholland. The G.O. Ride is doing a nice loop out Hidden Valley to Wendy, back through Wildwood and over Kanan to Chesboro. And the social ride is going to do Carlisle Canyon and the Hidden Valley Horse Stables. We've also got midweek rides Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, including a Tuesday night mountain bike ride, a Wednesday afternoon spin with Sheri and destination rides Tuesday and Thursday mornings. When riding with your groups, please be very verbal and watch for debris in the bike lanes. Always warn riders behind you of everything approaching! You are their eyes when you are on the front. Our Purple and Newcomer rides are getting a good turn-out. Please help spread the word and bring friends! Our next Purple ride is scheduled Saturday the 18th. SAFETY REMINDERS If there is a marked bike lane, cyclists may ride shoulder to shoulder. Single file otherwise. There is no three or four abreast at any time while moving.If you are wearing a CVC kit, you represent the club, so please be sure to follow the rules of the road. When riding with CVC, you agree to: * Wear a helmet and ensure my bike is in good working order. * Ride to the right, pass on the left. * Ride in the bike lane (where available) and signal when moving into another lane. * Ride no more than two abreast in the bike lane, single file on narrow roads, and avoid "Swarming" (bunching up and multiplying the chance of accidents) * Call out and point if I see a traffic hazard * Respect ALL traffic laws and the rights of all autos, bicycles, and pedestrians* Ride predictably and remind other to be safe * Be a bicycling ambassador PARKING Please remember when parking at The Landing for any weekend morning rides to park and congregate towards the far end of the lot away from the street and use the middle row. Do not park next to the homes. ADDITIONAL NOTES The Purple ride is considered a no drop. Having said that, please note that if you are falling behind or slower than the average pace, you may be dropped. All rides not asterisked are considered a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). If you get to a regrouping spot and no one is there, consider yourself dropped. As always, we will try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. If for any reason you leave a group ride, please pass along the information to the ride leader. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride.

CVC Picnic Ride and Benefit info

[image: Inline image 1] Hi CVCrs, I know you have all heard from Sheri about the CVC Picnic Ride and Benefit slated for May 6th by now, and we are very excited to be able to bring this event to fruition. Your CVC team has been working hard to put together a really exciting ride and social experience for you, and your family. Let me tell you what you can expect. Let's start with the ride. We have 2 great routes to choose from. when we laid them out, we wanted something that would challenge (but not overly) our riders. These routes are fun, scenic and beautiful. The 75 mile grand tour cruises through the heart of the Conejo Valley, through the spectacular farmlands of the Moorpark and Camarillo areas and down the coast along Pacific Coast Hwy. The piece de resistance is the run into the Santa Monica Mtns via Encinal Canyon and back into town on Decker/Westlake. The 50 mile route takes another avenue and follows the picturesque Lynn Rd corridor to Portreo Rd and into Camarillo. It then joins the 75 Mile route down the Pacific Coast Hwy, over Encinal Cyn and back into town. This route can also be shortened to a 25 mile (approx) route for those that want a nice ride through the West end of the Conejo Valley. Along with our great routes will be SAG support that will make sure you have what you need, or to get you back if you need a lift for whatever reason. To make sure you stay fueled, we will have stocked rest stops along the way. You will find all the goodies you need to keep you rolling at your optimum throughout the morning. And the best part is the sense of accomplishment that you feel after completing a fabulous ride that may be a milestone distance for you, or just a great day with your friends. But..the fun doesn't stop there! when you get back, we will have lunch being served fresh from one of the L.A. areas famous gourmet food trucks. This is the fun part that your family can join in and help celebrate the day with us. Alll afternoon we will have great music playing, a beer garden, raffles and give-a-ways, and all of your CVC brothers and sisters to share your adventure with. Wed. Ride NEW TIME 3:45!

Welcome to the beginning of Spring! We get a beautiful day on Wednesday and will be able to push a little later. Pub rides start in May to June. For now, let's stick to the 3:45 start time! We may have some breeze, so be ready! It will be incredible as the afternoon moves along. Great day for that mid-week stretch! Rides are about 20-22 miles for now. Gold+ pace.
