Sunday January 5th G.O. Ride

Hi Fellow CVC members and guests, Our Sunday G.O. rides are typically 30 to 45 miles in length with an average speed of 14 to 16 MPH. As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our pre-ride announcements promptly at 9:00 AM then splitting into our groups and departing. This week's route is a revised 3 Lakes Route. 41.6 miles 3068 feet We will announce regroup locations at the ride start. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. New CVC Club rates for 2014

Hi CVC'rs, As we close out the this past year and start anew, your Conejo Valley Cyclists Board of Directors has made a few changes to our fee structure for club membership dues. In the past we have had a tiered rate chart that included an initial rate and a renewal rate. *Prior* *I*ndividual "initial": $30.00 Individual renewal: $20.00 Family "new": $35.00 Family Renewal: $25.00 We will now be using a flat rate as shown on the following table. Individual $30.00 Family $35.00 The fee's for using the payment feature in our online membership system will now be absorbed by the club instead of being paid by the member. The increase in fees will help offset some of the rising costs incurred by the club that have in the past been covered solely by funds from our Cruisin' the Conejo ride. We also have not had any club due rate increases in many years. I'm sure that you will agree that even with this increase, the club is still a great value. We are looking forward to seeing all of you out on the road and trail in 2014!! Your CVC Board of Directors.

CVC RED RIDE -- Saturday: January 4th, 2014 8:30 AM Start: Sprouts Market/Citibank Parking Lot ( NE Corner of Westlake Blvd. & Agoura/Hampshire Road, Westlake Village,CA) The weather forecast for this Sat. is very favorable for a ride in the Santa Monicas Full sun, no rain or strong winds and temp's in the middle to higher 70's Jim Doane- RED RIDE Leader this week. CVC PURPLE RIDE - Saturday January 4th, 8:30 a.m. Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Ride leader/s for this ride will be: Bill Sietsema Route: Wildwood CCW; 20.4 miles; 1324 feet For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/115612 The Purple Ride is an entry level ride - no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. This is a "no drop ride" however, please try to stay together. As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together. Ride note: If you leave the ride for any reason, please pass along the information to the ride leader so that we don't wait at the next re-grouping. First off: Happy New Year's to everyone! CVC GOLD RIDE -- Saturday, January 4, 8:30 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. Route: Up Rock Store and BACK DOWN! Let's enjoy descending what we usually climb. Then out to King Gillette for a break, return via Mulholland, Cornell, and Agoura with a lake loop to cleanse the palate. 34 miles, 3600 feet climbing. The Gold Ride is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30+ miles in length and averaging 12-14 mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. This is a "drop ride" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe ride.
