*CVC **Orange** Ride -- Saturday, January 19th, 8:30 AM.** * Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups to depart. *Route: Westlake to Topanga Canyon, through Mulholland and Old Topanga. Gold is returning on Old Topanga through Calabasas and Orange is Climbing Fernwood Pacifica and down Stunt. * * * *Regroups:* Re-group at King Gillette Ranch for Restrooms and Water. Re-group at the top of Seven Minute Hill at guard shack for water.. Gold re-group at the top of Topanga. CVC Purple Level Ride -- Saturday, January 19th, 8:30 AM A beautiful day for a challenging relaxing ride. The temperature should be in the low 70 degrees; no jacket required. The following route distance can be reduced or expanded and necessary. Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups to depart Route: Mulholland, Seven Minute Hill returning through Calabasas; This route can be shorten by eliminating the Lake Lap. For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1449305 Regroups: Juan Bautista De Anza Park for water and restrooms Top of Seven Minute Hills for Water McDonald's on Agoura Road for Water and Restrooms As frequent as possible to maintain the group The Purple Ride is an entry level ride no one is dropped; however, if you are not planning on completing the route please inform the ride leader. Average distance is less than 25 miles at a pace of less than 12 MPH. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition. Hi CVC Red Riders :Thank you for riding last Sat.'s Memorial Ride - a fitting tribute to those that have gone before us by us riding in their memory. For this week's Red Ride: Let's take advantage of the predicted 70 degree weather and great, clear views by riding a very scenic route: Saturday, 1-19th CVC Red Ride: 8:30am Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot (NE Corner Agoura Rd. & Westlake Blvd.) Westlake-Mulholland-PCH-Yerba Buena-Mulholland-Westlake 45.5 miles - approx. 4,500' climbing Here's the RWGPS Map: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2070726 Ride out of Sprouts Market parking lot Ride East on Agoura Rd. Right on Triunfo Canyon Rd. Left on Westlake/Decker to Mulholland Hwy (climb from Carlisle Canyon to Mulholland: 2.4 miles, 810' climbing) (1st re-group - on Mulholland Hwy - last stinger's driveway water stop) Across Mulholland Hwy to PCH descent ( 7.5 mi. mostly descending- watch out for loose gravel & rocks on the turns ) ( 2nd re-group - Leo Carrillo campground entrance) PCH westbound to right turn at Neptune's Net: starting Yerba Buena ( 8.1 miles, 2360' climbing) ( 3rd re-group - Top of Yerba Buena : Park Rangers call it "Party Rock" ) Yerba Buena down to Little Sycamore descent Mulholland Hwy to Westlake/Decker ( add another descent/ascent loop from here if you want a longer ride) Or.... ride directly to ..... Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermediate/Advanced Mountain Bike Ride will ride White Horse. Meet at the trail-head Moorpark rd at Green Meadow. Be ready to ride at 6pm. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but,lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. You will need a light and spares. CVC Club Ride Recap for Week of 1-11-13 Hi CVC'rs, Here’s this upcoming week’s club ride recap summarizing the rides and identifying the club ride leaders. Please refer to the individual ride captain’s ride announcement emails for specific ride details. Local Rides: Saturday, 8:30 AM rides are as follows: All Level Rode, Memorial Ride to Peter Straus Ranch for a photo opertunity. Each Ride will continue up Rochstore; the Purple group can challenge Rockstore or return back to Cornell. We try to ride as far as we can, but it's usually about 25 miles due to daylight. Then we'll ride West on Mulholland up the Rock Store and re-group again at the top to split up into club ride options: 1) Gold Ride : Continue on Mulholland Hwy to Decker/Westlake descent 2) Orange Ride: Mulholland to Upper Encinal to Lechusa to Decker/Westlake descent 3) Red Ride: Up Latigo Canyon down to PCH and back up Latigo Canyon - return to Westlake Conejo Valley Cyclists Classic Bicycle Ride, January 20th, 2013 Join us on Sunday January 20th, 2013 for a ride with your classic lightweight road/race bicycle. Many have, collect, and enjoy the “old” bikes and there are not too many opportunities for group rides dedicated to them so we at CVC have created our own quarterly Classic Bicycle Ride. We plan on a relaxed pace ride through Hidden Valley, past the estates of the rich and famous, and back of 20 miles. After the ride we invite you to bring a stand and display your classic and socialize with other bicycle enthusiasts at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and the Natural Café. CVC Annual Memorial Ride -- Saturday, January 12th, 8:30 AM: We gather together to remember and commemorate our friends & members who are now in a more peaceful place. Please dress in your CVC Kits? Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 AM, then split into our groups to depart. Route: Rock Store for all rides except the Purple Ride. We'll all ride together as a group to Peter Straus Ranch on Mulholland for a group picture & brief remembrance. Please wear your club kit for the group picture which we'll post to our new club website. CVC Sunday Social Ride – Sunday 9:00 AM Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner), this is a longer social route with options to make it shorter. Route: Westlake to Arboles left on Parkview then a Left on Erbes follow by a Right on La Granada, we will ride up Lynn to Dos Vientos and returning on Portrero. This route is new to the rotation so have a route slip if you are unfamiliar with these directions. Hi Everyone, The last two Sunday's we tried to ride this route it was canceled because of inclement weather. Let's try it again this weekend. On Sunday starting at 9:00 AM the Social Ride is riding to Does Vientos and returning on Potrero. Please reference the route slip and map for details as this is new to the Social Ride. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc..
