of the participants, we will keep a 12-14 MPH average.
If you feel you are not Purple ready, but want to work up to the Purple
level, please contact the Ride Captain who will gladly give you some
pointers and advise. We strongly recommend that you come out and meet the
riders! The best stepping stone to grow into a Purple rider is to ride
around Westlake! When you can sweep those 5 flat miles at a steady 12 to
14 mph pace, and still feel ready for more, then you will be able to
handle many of the standard Purple routes.
Things you need for every ride:
Helmet-Mandatory
Water or Sports Drink
I.D.
Cell phone
Spare tube
CO2 cartridge or hand pump
Patch kit
Route slip
Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either
actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to
cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in
these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official
