Saturday, March 3rd CVC Red Ride 8:30am Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot (NE Corner of Agoura/Hampshire Rd.s/Westlake Blvd.) CVC RED Ride: Ride over to and up Rock Store: Then from top of Rock Store, options are: 1) Up and down Latigo Canyon to PCH - back up Latigo Canyon - then back to Westlake Other options from the top of Rock Store are........ 2) Across Mulholland Hwy -descend Upper Encinal Canyon and down Lower Encinal Canyon to PCH 3) Across and down entire Mulholland Hwy to PCH to Leo Carrillo Campground Then from Leo Carrillo Campground.... Choose a return route back up and over to Westlake Village. With an ever so slight rain prediction, (20%) and cold temps. I am going to pass on this week's ride and make a doctor appt. that I have put off. We have plenty of beautiful days coming ahead! If you so desire to still ride the ride, we were going to do a Rock Store run, or a Agoura to Westlake, to Arboles run... take your pick, reply to all, and show up!!!!! I will see you all Saturday, or Sunday, or next Wednesday, or ALL of the above! Sheri

*CVC FUN RIDE* Leave the clips & spandex at home and bring the T-shirts & Kids. Please come and join me at *Triunfo Park on Sunday, Mar 4th at 2pm*. If you were there last time, you know how much FUN it was. The Route: *Triumfo Community Park to The Landing *at Westlake and back. The distance is a safe 5.3 miles. The Fun Ride is designed to be a stress free, community and neighborhood focused ride that teaches our families and friends that you don’t have to wear a jersey to ride the streets of the Conejo Valley. It is a mixed level ride with both adults and kids participating. Keeping that in mind, we will try to keep the pace leisurely but not lazy; fun but not fast. I hate to be a wet blanket, but please review the notices below. Hey MTB'rs, This Tuesday we are riding Whitehorse Via Los Robles trail. We will meet at the South end of Moorpark Dr. (Same Trailhead as Space Mountain). Most of our rides are approximately 10 miles and last under 2 hours. The Tuesday MTB night ride is a intermediate paced ride. lets stay together and have a fun safe time. CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, February 26th - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Happy new year everyone! I'm looking for an energetic, motivated club member or club members to help lead the Sunday Social rides. If you have any interest in lending a hand, let me or Kent our ride director know. This weeks Route: Hidden Valley Backwards (Optional Dos Vientos Extension) Come out and join us for a social paced ride (14 Mph Avg. Speed). Approximately 30 miles and then stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. This week we will once again take some favorite roads and run them backwards. Right turn out of the parking lot onto Townsgate Rd. Right on Lakeview Cyn. Left on Agoura Rd. Right on Lindero Cyn. Right on Triunfo Cyn. Left on Hampshire Rd. Left on Foothill Dr. Left on Willow Ln. Left on Thousand Oaks Bl. Left on S. Rancho Rd. Right on Haaland Dr. Right on Rolling Oaks Dr. Left on Moorpark Rd. Right on Green Meadow Ave. Use the Green Meadow MUP. Left on Lynn Rd. At Reino Rd, you can make a left to W. Portero Rd and take Hidden Valley backwards back to the start or *Optional extension: While on Lynn Rd., cross S. Reino Rd. which becomes W. Portero Rd. Right on Via Las Brisas Left on Portero Rd which becomes Lynn Rd. Right on S. Wendy Dr. Left on W. Portero Rd. Hidden Valley backwards back to the start. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. There are many options at this location for beverage and food establishments.

PLEASE tell me that you have all had a chance to get outside in this amazing sunshine?!? We have more sunny goodness lined up for us this weekend! The Purple ride is going to head up Westlake to Kanan, back on Thousand Oaks Blvd. to Lindero and end with a great lake loop! This is a perfect ride for a recovery spin, new riders and family members who want to see what all the hubbub is about this great sport we call cycling! I want to see you Sunday!! We will meet at Citibank (corner of Agoura Hills and Westlake), rolling out at 9:00 AM. To see Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Purple Ride, click here: http://www.cvcbike.org/?p=3127 The Purple ride is a beginner club ride with a 12-13 mph average pace but is open to all levels. No one gets dropped and no one is left behind. Please make sure to wear the appropriate riding attire. Please check your bike prior to Sunday and make any necessary repairs. *CVC Saturday GOLD Level Ride -- Saturday Feb 25th 8:30 AM*** *Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) *** *Route: Out to the Ranch Conejo Open Space (behind Amgen) via Hillcrest; cross the Fwy. At Wendy to Reino; Up and over Potrero; and across the valley to Westlake Blvd; and finally a lake loop* *32.9 Miles; approx. 2,050 ft. of climbing* For a detailed map and route slip, go to: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/956598 *Regroups are noted on the ride map (may change as needed).* As usual, we will meet at the Citibank parking lot and have our prerideannouncements promptly at 8:30AM then splitting into our groups and departing. The *Gold Ride* is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30-40 miles in length and averaging 14 mph. It is mandatory to have and wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. *This is not a "no drop **ride**" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together and have a fun safe **ride**. We will regroup regularly to allow everyone a chance to ride together.* *Things to have:*** Helmet !!! Hello All Purple Riders! By now you should have seen Kent's email about the changes to our rides structure. Each color group will now have a Ride Captain and several Ride Leaders! This allows the existing Ride Leaders some flexibility and provides the ride group with some variety! Please email me directly if you would like to join the SATURDAY Purple Ride Leader rotation and email Kelly directly for the SUNDAY Purple Ride Leader rotation. Some of the Ride Leader responsibilities: Take a head countDirect new riders to Kent or Jim to sign the waiverExplain the route to your group before leaving the lotAsk for / assign a sweeperHave a fun ride! Hi CVC Red Riders I propose that we ride in the opposite direction to last week's ride for a change of pace. CVC Red Ride Saturday, 2-25-12 8:30am Citibank/Sprouts Parking lot = NE corner Agoura Rd & Westlake Blvd. Westlake Village- Piuma Rd.- across Saddle Peak-down Fernwood-Up Old Topanga Canyon then Calabassas return to Westlake This ride affords us to the opportunity to climb Piuma & ride in the reverse direction of our usual Fernwood climb and then we'll return via' Old Topanga Canyon and Calabassas-Mureau Rd.-Agoura-Westlake 8:30am start: Westlake Village First re-group: Juan Bautista de Anza Park Second re-group: top of Piuma - ocean overlook FYI: Piuma is 2X Rock Store in distance & climbing feet - see if you can ride it in less than 30 min's Third re-group: top of Stunt Rd. - then proceed up Saddle Peak riding to the East, across Tuna Canyon down Fernwood Pacific- back up Old Topanga Canyon See you in Sat. at 8:30am Jim Doane- CVC Red Ride Captain
