Hi Everyone, In the spirit of family harmony let's start our Holiday ride at 9:30 Tuesday. This Loop thru Moorpark is around 40 miles. If we keep the regroups short we should be finished around 12:45 PM. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1987850 Hopeingly it will help us recover from that sugar plum high last night and keep us in a festive mood for today. I look forward to seeing you then, Dale It is mandatory to have and ware a helmet and it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is valid (check expiration on helmet inner tag, usually good for five years) and in good working condition. It is not a "no drop ride" but as always let's try to stick together and have a fun, safe ride. Things to have: Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop. Tools to perform minor repairs. Chain repair linkage. Inner-tube and inflated device. Cellular phone. Food to replenish energy. Inclement weather policy: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ride in these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. After the ride, please join us at one of the many refueling options available at the finish such as Natural Cafe, Sea Casa, East Coast Bagel, Sprouts Market, etc.. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Bl.(between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. We try to ride as far as we can, but it's usually about 25 miles due to daylight. Upcoming Events: Conejo Valley Cyclists Classic Bicycle Ride, January 20th, 2013 Join us on Sunday January 20th, 2013 for a ride with your classic lightweight road/race bicycle. Many have, collect, and enjoy the “old” bikes and there are not too many opportunities for group rides dedicated to them so we at CVC have created our own quarterly Classic Bicycle Ride. We plan on a relaxed pace ride through Hidden Valley, past the estates of the rich and famous, and back of 20 miles. After the ride we invite you to bring a stand and display your classic and socialize with other bicycle enthusiasts at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and the Natural Café. Hi Everyone, Do to possible rain Sunday Let's keep it close to home... CVC Sunday Social / Recovery Ride -- Sunday, December 23rd - 9:00am Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) Route: Reyes Adobe / Lindero MUP Come out and join us for a local social paced ride (14 Mph Avg. Speed). Approximately 25-30 miles and then stay a while to socialize afterwards by having an after-ride beverage and snack. The plan for this Sunday is to head North on Reyes Adobe, cut through the school which puts us on Lindero Cyn., where we will find our way to the Multi Use Path that meanders through Oak Canyon Park. >From there we can take the not too traveled residential side streets to work our way South which puts us at Chumash Park all without having to ride on Kanan. Once there we can choose the return route and/or extension (I.e. Agoura with a Carlisle Canyon loop, Thousand Oaks Blvd to Forrest Cove Park pass though or a Malibou Lake loop). This route uses lightly traveled roads that avoid the traffic of the major streets. After ride socializing - Natural Cafe' Restaurant - Patio and/or front grassy courtyard area. Many options at this location for beverage and food establishments. Things to have: Helmet !!! - Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop - Tools to perform minor repairs -Chain repair linkage - Inner-tube and pump (or the like) - Cellular phone - Food to replenish energy. Wed. Afternoon and weekday rides

Hi! I may bow out of this Wednesday's ride due to cold weather predicted (and I still have a sore throat.) If by chance it warms up a bit, I may feel different. Look for a Wednesday morning announcement but be in touch with me if you have interest. But... for fun, as Dennis has said. I plan on leading the next two Wednesdays (after this one) on a Wednesday morning. It will be the day AFTER Christmas, and the day AFTER New Years.
