Following up on my previous announcement of this Sat.'s FOUR non-club charity rides, and advise of my participation in Simi's "Share the Road" ride..... Do any Red Riders have a suggestion of a route for a "local" -Westlake Red Ride? If so, please email me back your idea(s) and I will add the necessary details and announce the route. If not, you could do a ride to the Coast and decide upon a return route from there? (I know there are quite a few of you doing one the four previously mentioned rides however.) *CVC Saturday GOLD Level Ride -- Saturday, September 29th, 8:30 AM** (NEW TIME) * Meeting at Citibank Parking Lot - Westlake Village -- Westlake Blvd. & Agoura Road (North East Corner) for announcements; promptly at 8:30 am, then split into our groups to depart. *Route: 3 Lakes "New" Route; 39.5 Miles; 3,008 Feet GOLD+ Extension- Lake Loop at the end *Water & Toilets: Mile 12.0 (Borchard Community Park) Water & Toilets: Mile 25.1 (Morrison Park- turn left on Forest Cove) * * Regroups will be...Firestation, Reino at the Right Turn, At the Right Turn on Westlake, Cornell after the lake loop, Agoura Rd at Kanan For a detailed map and route slip, go to*: * http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1231910 *Upcoming Rides*- Woodranch, The Decker Wall, Tapo Cyn., & Old Topanga. * * The *Gold Ride* is an Intermediate recreational ride, 30-40+ miles in length and averaging 14+ mph. It is mandatory to have & wear a helmet. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that the helmet is in good condition (check expiration on helmet inner tag) and that your bike is in working condition as well. *This is a "drop **ride**" so please understand the route before you start (and how to get back). As always we will try to stick together & have a fun safe **ride**. We will regroup regularly and to allow everyone a chance to ride together.* *Things to have:*** Helmet !!! - *Water to complete the ride or at least to reach the next water stop* - Tools to perform minor repairs -Chain repair linkage - Inner-tube and pump (or the like) - Cellular phone - Food to replenish energy*.* *Inclement weather policy*: In the interest of safety, whenever it is either actively raining or the ride route has wet roads, it is our club policy to cancel a club ride. Club members may still choose to meet and ridein these conditions; however, the ride will not be considered an official club ride. Please remember to park in the area along Westlake Blvd. (between the street and the first driveway aisle) and not in the area in front of the Shops/Market. If we don't respect the requests of the lease tenants, we could be asked to park elsewhere. Remember, if you ride... RIDE GOLD!!!

Tuesday Evening Beg/Int MTB ride, Dos Vientos, 6:00pm start

CVC Tuesday evening Beginner/Intermediate MTB ride. *This ride is a mix of fire roads and technical single track ridden at a slower pace than the advanced ride.* Meet at Wendy and Potrero. Start time is 6:00pm. Route to be determined. The goal is to ride from 1.5 - 2 hrs and travel about 8 - 12 miles. You don't have to have a mountain bike if you're new to the sport. A bike with wide tires and a little front suspension will do to get started. *Lights are now required. We recommend lights with at least 750 lumens. Two lights are ideal - one for your handlebar and one for your helmet. You're able to see surprisingly well with this set up. CVC encourages you to support our cycling community by shopping at local bike stores.* Afterwards we can go for some food and refreshments. CVC Tuesday PM MTB 10-3-12 6pm

Hey CVC Mountain Bike Riders, This Tuesday the Intermediate/Advanced Mountain Bike Ride will be at Dos Vientos. We will meet at the trailhead at Portrero and Wendy. Be ready to ride at 6pm <x-apple-data-detectors://0>. Routes to be determined. Most of our rides are approximately 8-15 miles and last around 1.5-2 hours. This is an intermediate/advanced paced ride and not a no-drop ride. but, lets stay together within our groups, and have a fun safe time. We are now needing full lights to finish the rides.
