Let's ride a reverse direction on sections of a familiar route. On last week's Red Ride we were pleased to see some significant portions of Yerba Buena west of the top of the world have been paved - so the descent from there has some smooth sections. Route: Westlake to Malibou Lake-Rock Store-Mulholland-Little Sycamore- descend Yerba to Cothrin-Pacific View-descend Deer Creek to PCH - up Decker Canyon - back down Westlake Blvd. to around the lake - back to start 53.5 Miles 6,990 approx.feet of climbing ( per RWGPS which is usually high) For a detailed map and route slip go to:http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3722375 Re-group spots: 1) Top of Rock Store climb... then... Hi All: The Accuweather forecast looks like a pretty certain chance of rain in our area during our normal riding time tomorrow. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Thousand+Oaks&state=CA&site=LOX&textField1=34.1706&textField2=-118.837&e=0 As an alternative plan - I might consider riding this route around 1:00pm to allow time for the rain to stop and roads to dry up somewhat. Route: From Westlake to Malibou Lake and east on Mulholland to King Gilette Ranch Seven Minute Hill - up Old Topanga and down to Fernwood Market- up Fernwood Pacific to Saddle Peak - across to Stunt - back on Mulholland to Malibou Lake then add in (or not) Rock Store climb for return to Westlake 49.
