For the month of June CVC is posting weekend road cycling routesthat are part of the SMMT Challenge. Ride starts at the Landing. Start time is8:30 am.

For those of you who are curious as to what the SMMT Challenge is...The Santa Monica Mountain Challenge happens every year starting the lastweekend of May and goes through August 31. The full challenge includes 15 road,15 mountain bike, and 15 gravel climbs plus 15 trail runs in the Santa MonicaMountains. There is a leaderboard that pulls from Strava where you can completethe different segments and see your times. It's all in good fun and you cancompete against your own times or against others in your age group and level ofride experience (pro, expert, sport, or beginner). All you need is to be onStrava.The website shows you exactly where the segments are and it's totallyfree to register. Every time you better a climb, you can see your times change onthe leaderboard. There's no limit as to how many times you can redo a climbuntil the challenge ends on August 31. Check it out! It's fun!

When riding with us please

· Avoid bunching up and don’t overlap wheels.
· Keep a prudent distance and ride single file on narrow roads.
· Ensure your bike is in good working order.
· Descend carefully!
· Pass slower riders on the left and signal when changinglines.
